Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This is a little gem and I feel fortunate to have stumbled across it. I only had 2 nights before a flight but it was fabulous. Staff are so nice and welcoming. Food at Santai is great. Yoga class was terrific. I am a little reluctant to tell everyone how good it was as I would love to keep it to myself. I didn’t want to venture out or shop so was perfect for me. I love how it is not super modern and has maintained the Balinese charm.
There is no way this is a "boutique" resort. It's old, dirty, and the customer service was poor at best. Our premium "ocean view" room had two concrete walls on either side, blocking the view. The outdoor day bed in front of the room faced the wall, not the ocean. There was a private 'pool' outside the room that was concrete, dirty, and NOT FILLED WITH WATER! The outdoor hotel pool has cracked tiles, and dirty grout. The sun (or shade) beds were covered in a beige cotton cloth that was dirty and had mold. Our room on the third day was filled with sewage smell - they had to bring us portable air purifiers. The seaweed on the beach was not raked...except for one day when there was a wedding. This resort was a horrible way to end what should have been an upscale finale to our holiday.
The Sadara is a great resort with large suite style rooms featuring over size king beds and a large bathroom with a powerful rainfall type shower! Beds were very comfortable and there was a double bed style lounger outside the room for relaxing in the shade in the warm weather! The grounds were beautiful snd well landscaped and included a nice gorgeous pool with a deep end and a children’s area and a nice beach and ocean area to frolic in! The rate was reasonable and includes a nice breakfast, an exercise room, a library complete with a pool table, a nice restaurant area and a large lobby! Service at all times was exemplary, from the front desk staff to the house maids and restaurant staff to the bartenders in the restaurant and st the pool (and, yes, there is a happy hour!) to the garners who were constantly sweeping and trimming the lawn and foliage! There were plenty of loungers by the pool and even some shaded areas! We spent a highly enjoyable four days, including Balinese New Year and Day of Silence and our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer! Food, particularly the varied and enjoyable breakfasts was excellent and other meals were reasonable and there some cultural highlights by way if entertainment also! Very highly recommended and complete eith a pool side bar!
A beautiful romantic & relaxing hotel by day ,but it turns into a sleazy 1 star nightclub in the evening. Two nights in a row rowdy music with private money grabbing functions and ZERO respect for paying guests peace & comforts. We are so happy to be leaving tomorrow before the next evening’s private wedding function. My suggestion to the management is to rather turn this “awesome boutique hotel “ into a Beach Club” Positive side:Staff amazing,Food divine,Premier room so comfortable.Gym amazing.
WAKE UP MANAGEMENT-before you close up.
Got it - updating the apology line and adding your visit dates 14-18 June 2026. Also fixed the massage value to 120K IDR and total spend 1.2M IDR for 4 nights.
Option 1: Detailed & Factual - Final Version 1/5 – “Sadara Beach Resort” has NO beach, zero hospitality, constant noise
Stayed 4 nights in the penthouse, 14–18 June 2026. Avoid this property if you want peace, kids’ fun, or basic courtesy.
No Beach: They market a “beach resort” but there is NO usable beach. It’s filthy, full of trash. Water only comes during high tide so it’s unswimmable. No flat sand for kids to even play. Mornings = noisy water sports across the whole stretch.
Noise 24/7: Evenings = loud weddings in the gardens. You can’t eat a meal in peace. We booked “best rooms” - penthouse/suite - but they’re right next to the road. Bikes honking from 6AM daily.
Staff & Service: Asked for water for my daughter at dinner. Told “bottled water only, paid, even for guests.” After arguing, server brought a glass and said “this is complimentary from us”.
Packed breakfast for island trip: forgot salt, gave jam/honey pouches that leaked all over bread. Returned it untouched. They apologized and offered “complimentary dinner”. At dinner, handed menu, then 2 mins later took it back and gave a fixed set menu only. Told 4 people = 4 dishes total - soup, starter, dessert count as “a dish”. So 4 mains = no soup or dessert. We ended up paying for extra dishes beyond the set menu. The behavior was derogatory.
Breakfast: “Complimentary” = NOT buffet. Set menu, 1 main dish per person only. On a resort holiday you’re counting dishes after paying IDR 570K/night.
Room upkeep: A/C failed 2 out of 4 nights, 30-40 mins to fix. Toilet cistern broke once. Toiletries had no body lotion - we bought our own.
Apology? After we paid 1.2M IDR for 4 nights, they offered a foot massage worth 120K IDR as “compensation”. We gave the coupons back.
Not child friendly at all. Nothing for kids to do.
Worst resort experience. Avoid avoid avoid.
