Stay in a Villa at Hilton Bali
Excellent experience. As a Hilton Diamond Reserve member, I received excellent recognition and was upgraded to a private villa with exclusive lounge access, which made my stay really fantastic.

I highly recommend this hotel Villa section for families , lounge views are very relaxing, and you feel like in a boutique hotel.

Let down
Be warned there is a tonne of buildings work next door.
A very large hotel with lots of noise! If you’re looking for a tranquil resort then this is not it!
Rooms are tired.
Grab a cuppa and a biscuit it’s a long list of woes
It’s where to start really. It was a combination of building works, diggers running all day and the hotel closing down huge spaces around the pools and normal areas you would expect to be able to access like bars, day bed areas and restaurants - because they rented these portions out to weddings and parties. Some of these events also came with huge PA system one of which broadcast over loud speaker a full Indian wedding, which closed big parts of the pool area.
The food and facilities are very expensive for Bali and also sub par (other than the breakfast buffet. It’s chaos but good). We waited 2 hours for a meal in Hanasei their sushi restaurant and on another evening we paid £140 for the evening buffet which was horrendous. It was more of a bu than a buffet.
We were advised to stay at the hotel and upgrade our meal packages, because there was only jungle locally and the nearest restaurants/facilities were 40 mins away. This was directly by reception. The reality was, Bali collection which is a little area of gorgeous shops and food with live music, where you can eat like kings as a family for £45 bill in total, is 7 minutes down the road In a £2 taxi. It’s located directly after lanes of little local shops selling every version of nik nak you can consider.
Also make sure you are down early. This is a fight for a sun lounger resorts. Towels are out from the early morning making it a low rent race for shade if you have kids.
And finally my sliders were stollen. I reported it and checked everyday. Not only were they not interested they said the pool is a public area so it was - what it was. I was actually more disappointed by their reaction than the shoes. I don’t know what I wanted them to say - what I didn’t expect was the pure disinterest that it happens at the resort.
Lunch by the pool was ok - but could take up to an hour to arrive and was way over priced for Bali.
On the upside the rooms were fab as were the towels - pillows were rock hard though and the shower was cold as often as it was hot. We had a suite so the room size was great for 4 of us and the aircon worked well.
I think it just needs to decide who it wants to serve. Having huge functions in high season when you are renovating your ball room is not the best decision. And not warning people about the building works is negligent. One customer had paid for a private villa and he had a jcb just the other side of his fence meaning he couldn’t use his outside area or pool. The hotel gave him a free massage - and a token to the terrible buffet.
We were given one of those too when my husband threatened to unplug the PA system as he tried to work through the sound of wedding on loud speaker.
A crap experience for the bride no doubt having lots of people in swimwear and kids running around while she is trying to have the best day of her life and rubbish for everyone else who came to relax. Such a shame. So much potential. I can’t add the videos of the noise sadly. Trip advisor does offer that feature.
