Awesome central friendly comfy hotel

Wonderful attentive, friendly, smiling staff, lovely big clean rooms. Very comfy beds and pillows. Great cocktails by the pool. Really appreciated the quick responses from the Reservations team when I was trying to work out how to book Interconnecting rooms for our family. Great, central, convenient location. Not the quietest hotel but you expect a bit of noise when you’re right in the centre of town. Lovely pool. Yummy breakfast. Awesome having a lift when you’re feeling a bit too tired for the stairs. We will be back!

Always a great spot to stay

This is a wonderful little hidden gem, my seventh stay here and always looked after. The staff are absolutely fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and that’s why I keep coming back. The hotel is cheap, rooms are good and have everything I need. A good selection at breakfast to get the day started. Pool is good to sit around and have a few drinks and cool off. Will be back in February for stay 8.

Pretty poor.

Pretty poor if I’m honest. Not allowed to have anymore than 1 room key - which has cased so many headaches. Also means that the aircon is turned off unless you are in the room. Tiny bathrooms. Hotel pool is the nicest part. Staff are lovey. But management could and should be a lot better.

Great place to stay

As usual a magnificent stay again, the hotel is perfect for my stays. Has everything I need, the breakfast is good with plenty of options, the rooms are comfortable and pool is good. For the price it’s excellent, close by to everything with a mini mart just across the road. The best part of the stay is the staff. They are all so friendly and nothing is ever a problem. I’d like to point out Ratih, she always makes my stays special and welcoming. All the staff are great! I would dearly love to have 2 keys though. See you next time, the fan man

Pleasant stay in Great Location

This was my first time staying in Grand La Walon Hotel in Kuta however I had walked past the hotel on many visits to Bali so I knew the location and the area very well.

The hotel is located on a lane just off of the main Legian street and is about 10 mins walk in the other direction to the beach. Where the hotel is located there is a 27/7 Circle K across the road which is perfect for snacks and drinks. There are laundry’s across the road and plenty of bar and restaurants. Only 50 yards away is Legian street where you have only round the corner Mamas German Restaurant which is open for food and drink 24/7! There’s an amazing Vietnamese place next door to Mamas and directly opposite the lane entrance is “Art Coffee” which served the best coffee I have had in Kuta area.

So as for the location the hotel is fabulous and walking distance to Kuta Beachwalk and Legian.

The hotel itself is very welcoming and the staff can’t do enough for you with the room being made up every day with fresh towels and bottled water.

On arrival you are asked for 500k CASH deposit. However you get the cash back at the end of your stay. I just put food and drink on my room knowing I had this cash at check out and I paid my bill with it so that’s worth remembering.

I stayed in a Delux Premier Room with Pool View and was given room 429 on the top floor. Now this is my only complaint about the hotel…the room was lovely however the pool view I got was more of a view of the end of the next block of rooms and the balcony was dark and dingy and not very appealing to sit out on. So I would make sure you avoid any of the rooms at the end of the block directly above reception as they will all have this view. All I’m saying is there are the same rooms with much nicer balconys and views. However this wasn’t a problem as I’m only in my room to sleep when in Bali.

The Bed is very comfortable with plenty of pillows, there is a fridge that is a minibar, electronic safe and TV with Hundreds of Chanel’s from all over the world. The free WiFi is very good and fast in the room. Storage space for clothes there is plenty of and there are many drawers and places to store your suitcases without then being in your way. Decent size bathroom with good shower and plenty of towels.

I honestly could not fault the quality and cleanliness of the room for the price.

What I would say though is that the room key is a card and they only give you One regardless of the number occupants in the room and you need the card to make the air con work and electricity to the room so you always come back to a stuffy room as the air con goes off when you are out as does the plugs so charging things like power banks when your out isn’t possible.

I can understand why they do it to save costs but it’s not good walking into a hot room after a hot walk in the Bali heat or even when you come home to bed at night. The aircon is good and works quickly so that’s makes up for it.

Food and Drink

The price for food and drink at the hotel are amazing….5 Bintang for 150k and you don’t need to drink them all that day! They put them on your room and tick them off as you drink them and you only pay 150k which I thought was great value for a hotel as most hotels I stay it’s 50k for 1!! They do a daily Pizza deal and the pizzas are huge cheap and amazing…each day is a different free side you get with a certain type of pizza of the day. You can even have it brought to you at the pool side and the staff there are very attentive so you won’t wait long for your drinks. Also decent cocktail deals at the pool bar.

Breakfast

Now I didn’t have it as part of my room rate and I’m glad I didn’t!! I paid the 70k for the buffet breakfast on morning and I have to be honest and say it was the worst hotel breakfast Iv had in Bali. The food was awful and tasted like It had been sitting for a long time. The egg station was the only decent thing about it. The coffee out the machine is undrinkable and just tasted like sugar powder. But for 70k I couldn’t complain as I enjoyed the cereal and omlette but the rest needs improved as it was poor quality. Would I recommend to stay here…. Absolutely! The location the room quality and the facilities such as the pool and the great prices at the pool bar and restaurant for how cheap the stay was I would defo say stay here if you are in the Legian area.
