Very Expensive, Dated Rooms, Poor Soundproofing and Significant Noise Issues
We booked this hotel for a special family holiday and were disappointed with our experience.
Our original room was located next to a construction site, and noise continued into the evening. Because we were travelling with a sick child who was struggling to sleep, we requested a room change. We were moved the following evening to another room where noise from the onsite nightclub continued late into the night. On another evening, noise from neighbouring guests was clearly audible until after midnight.
The soundproofing throughout the hotel appeared to be poor. We could regularly hear conversations, doors, and other noise from surrounding rooms, which made it difficult for our family to rest.
We also found the rooms and facilities to be quite dated and not at the standard we expected for the price paid. In addition, we encountered ants in the bathroom during our stay.
The staff we interacted with were friendly and courteous. However, the combination of construction noise, late-night entertainment noise, poor soundproofing, and the overall condition of the facilities significantly impacted our holiday experience.
Given the premium rates charged, we expected a much higher standard of accommodation and comfort. Unfortunately, our stay did not meet those expectations, and we would not choose to stay here again.

Bali Mandira is my home away from home From the wonderful staff to the luscious grounds to the stunning location on the beach what more could you ask for in a resort I have always felt at home here The staff are amazing - very caring thoughtful helpful and friendly Bali Mandira will not disappoint trust me! Oh and did I mention yoga 🧘🏽♀️ Tri is the master of movement who will take you through a wonderful practice in the beautiful surroundings of the lush green gardens with the ocean as your backdrop….heaven!🏝️
Amazing family holiday!
They had us at waterslides! We had such an incredible five nights at Bali Mandira, our first overseas holiday as a family of five.
The kids spent their days up and down the slides, bombing into the pool and ordering hot chips! Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with options for all of us, including gluten free. The staff were all incredible. Our kids loved returning to our rooms each day to find a new towel animal creation!
The location was perfect, walking distance to great restaurants, shops and the beach. Seminyak and Kuta a stones throw away.
We would love to stay again! Highly recommend for an awesome family holiday!
Mandira is the best.
The Bali Mandira Beach Resort and Spa in Legian has become a family favourite. In July this year we stayed for the 3rd time with my grandchildren. The ammenities, location and staff were outstanding as always. Our reception staff, and particularly Ayu went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and make our stay the most enjoyable time. We were upgraded to a private pool room due to the renovations at the time. As we were concerned with the pool having no fence to stop the toddler accessing the pool the hotel created temporary fencing, stopping any fears we had without hesitation. I would highly recommend the Bali Mandira to anyone and thank Ayu and all of the staff for making us feel so welcome.

One of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had—and absolutely not worth the premium price.
We saved for this family holiday, but instead of relaxing, we spent much of it complaining, changing rooms and trying to resolve basic problems. Our first room was beside a building site, with noise until around 10pm. Our sick child couldn’t sleep, yet the first alternative offered was only a few doors away from the same site.
After insisting on another move, we were relocated at around 8pm to a room intended for three people: three of us shared one king bed while the fourth slept on a camp bed. We then discovered it was beside Azul nightclub, where loud music continued until around 2am.
The following night, guests next door played loud music until midnight. We had to knock on their door ourselves because our child still couldn’t sleep. The soundproofing was appalling—we could hear conversations and even people using the toilet next door.
The hotel’s facilities are dated and clearly need a complete update, with the condition nowhere near the standard expected for the price.
The staff we dealt with were lovely and professional, but management was impossible to reach. Despite repeatedly being told our concerns had been referred, nobody from management would speak to us.
The compensation was a mediocre buffet lunch and breakfast at Azul, despite breakfast already being included in our booking.
We wasted a significant part of our holiday trying to fix one problem after another. We paid a premium for a special family trip and left frustrated, exhausted and completely let down.
Very expensive, dated, poorly soundproofed, infested with ants, and badly managed when genuine problems arose. We would not return
