H Sovereign Bali is a boutique hotel that celebrates taking contemporary elegance to the next level. It is fresh and edgy design concept that puts a playful twist on the traditions of tropical architecture. The hotel has been created for business and pleasure with clearly defined facilities for both sectors of the market. Impeccable service adds to the overall quality of stay.
Just love the service and the beautiful people here, value of money, great breakfast, strategic place, helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, airport transport service , laundry, welcome drink and everything you need just available for work or vacations. Enjoy my time a lot
After waiting for 4 hours our Scoot flight was finally cancelled and the airline had to put us in a hotel for the night. It was not until 2AM, another 2 hours after the flight was cancelled that we got to the hotel. The hotel is only about 5 minutes from the airport but not near the beach. The rooms were nice but the shower was only warm. Even though we did not arrive until 2AM and the new departure time was 7PM, we still had to check out by noon and the complimentary shuttle to the airport stopped at 1PM. Most disappointing was the Breakfast Buffet which was poor compared to others we had in Indonesia.
It is a good hotel near the airport with all basic amenities and good service. Our receptionist Anjel helped us a lot and was extremely courteous. The rooms have good wide beds and washroom is spacious.
One of recommended hotel to stay in Bali, near from airport and located in Kuta, the breakfast menu is great, love the pool, its on rooftop and we can see plane take off and landing in Ngurah Rai Intl Airport, will be back here again for sure. Thanks
There are no working safety deposit boxes even though the hotel website advertises this as a feature. When I arrived the safety deposit box was turned against the wall. When I asked reception they said all the boxes are under maintenance in every room. So bring a back up plan to secure belongings. The hotel is willing to store passports at a reception based deposit box but of course you need to remember to pick it up before you leave.
The phone in my room barely had any sound so it was unusable and I needed to go to reception with any questions. The internet in the room and lobby frequently dropped out and was unreliable which was annoying when I needed to do some work. The kettle in the room doesn't switch off when it reaches boiling. The AC and TV worked OK.
There is a mosque at the back of the hotel and you can hear the call to prayer from the room.
There seem to be multiple names for this hotel which is also confusing. The booking and payment was with Sovereign Bali, google maps calls it Grand Sovereign Kuta, the social media links take you to Arunika hotel, Grab recognises H Sovereign and I had 2 hotel keys in the name of Arunika and H Sovereign. Seem to all be the same address.
Check in was very slow as there was only one staff member working at check-in at the key time of 2pm. My room was not ready at the 2pm check-in time stated on my booking. I waited another 45 minutes to get a room key.
The lifts are also slow. Be prepared to wait. The 3 lifts in the lobby are not connected on any logic so guests end up pushing the buttons for all lifts which is not very efficient.
The pool area is pretty sad. Old, damaged seating is piled up in a corner. There is no shade at the pool so no one was using it in the afternoon as it is really exposed to the sun. You can see planes landing at the airport from the rooftop area. There is ca afé by the pool but no staff. Towels need to be collected from the spa reception which isn't open early in the morning.
The room is large and fairly standard business hotel room for Asia, functional but soulless. The room looked over the smoking area and into other rooms. The curtains had quite a good black out of light. The blind in the shower was old and damaged. There are some very limited toiletries and slippers provided.
There is a nice café in the lobby with a lovely breakfast menu but the hotel doesn't allow it to open until later in the morning when the buffet breakfast has finished, presumably to force you into the (very average looking) buffet. If you don't fancy the buffet there are alternatives for breakfast outside the hotel if you head left up the street.
The spa is a bit disorganised and the staff have limited English (google translate was the only way to communicate) but the foot massage I had was very good.
The hotel offers airport drops for IDR100,000 but had no cars available on the day I was leaving. It was quite easy to get a Grab to the airport.
