One of the nicest places to stay in Bali. The authentic Balinese hospitality is truly exceptional, and the team at Hotel Tugu Bali is fantastic. Everyone is always smiling, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making each guest’s experience memorable. The attention to detail, warm service, and unique cultural atmosphere make this a very special place. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable Balinese experience.
Tucked where Canggu's lively party scene meets frangipani and old temple stone, Tugu's location feels less like an address and more like a secret the island kept for itself. The atmosphere is the hotel's greatest feat, every corridor a curated labyrinth of antique wayang puppets, century-old antiques, fabric hangings so fine they look like frozen smoke. It breathes. It hums.
Our room offered hand-carved teak furniture, a four-poster bed, and a private plunge pool that mirrored the morning sky. Not a surface felt generic. Cleanliness was impeccable, housekeeping moved through like a quiet tide. Noise was nearly nonexistent (in the room); even with Canggu's party culture at the property's edge, the loudest thing inside was the ceremonial gamelan drifting from the evening prayer offering.
The service deserves its own essay. Staff anticipated rather than merely responded. A breakfast preference mentioned once appeared wordlessly the next morning. On value: Tugu is not cheap, but every detail is visible. Come here to remember what travel is supposed to feel like: slightly disorienting, deeply beautiful, impossible to replicate.
My wife and I just stayed at the Hotel Tugu and wow, what a fantastic time we had. 7 days in heaven, the hotel was amazing and the staff just can’t do enough to make you welcome. We would definitely recommend this hotel. We will also be returning ourselves.
Simply a great experience, a hidden oasis in surfers' paradise - Canggu. Very friendly staff with a sense of your needs. Perfect food with breakfast made to order. And finally, the Japanese restaurant was worth a visit - great fresh food, service and sunset view. Art, antiques and a small museum of Puputan for me and many clubs for my son.
We stayed at Hotel Tugu Bali for two nights during the dry season in July, and it was one of the most memorable hotels of our trip.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm and attentive service. Everyone was friendly, and their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The traditional Indonesian architecture and antique decorations made it feel like we had stepped back in time and were experiencing the history and culture of Indonesia. At the same time, our room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, so we slept really well.
The swimming pool was spacious and spotless, making it a great place to relax. We also loved having our own private plunge pool in the room, which was a wonderful bonus.
It was our first time trying Indonesian cuisine, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Breakfast on the rooftop was another highlight—the view was absolutely beautiful, so I highly recommend going up there in the morning.
If we visit Bali again in the future, Hotel Tugu Bali will definitely be our first choice.
