Terrific trip, 10 days and no complaints at all. Even with TS Lisa rolling by they all still made sure we were entertained. The grounds are beautiful, gardens and fountains around every corner.the location was close enough to everything we wanted to do. The food is what you expect with the exception of the olive branch which was amazing. All the ala cartes were slightly above usual I felt. The staff was super friendly. Special mentions go to Caleb who did a terrific class on making guacamole, as well as Seigio and Alma who gave a small group of us a very entertaining tequila tasting/history class. Fun as well as educational. We had Noeli at Coco cafe, I have never drank so much coffee as I did when she was there. She helped us with our Spanish and was a pleasure to speak with. Well, that's it. We leave tomorrow so I don't want to spend my whole evening on here. Great trip, don't hesitate.
i honestly cannot understand the amount of poor reviews for this hotel!!!!
first of all reading the negative and bad reviews it seems as though maybe people are being slightly entitled? there was one review that gave a bad post because their bags were not carried for them!
me, my husband and three children went here and we honestly had the most fabulous time. yes there are a few things that could be made better but this hotel is far from claiming to be world class! for example:
this was honestly such a great family holiday for us! my children loved it and so did i ( me being the very fussy and particular traveller) please take the negative reviews with some caution!
We had a great stay at Sunscapes! Too many folks come here expecting it to be like a secrets, dreams, etc, and you can’t compare it to those. You get what you pay for. Service was great, food was good, and the beach/ocean is awesome. Bars do close at midnight which was initially disappointing, but probably for the best (my liver appreciated that). The best guacamole ever at the Tiki Taco. Can’t beat this for the price.
Just returned from week on May 19th. Upgraded to the Sun Club level pool view room for the added amenities. Overall impression of resort and room was that it was tired and in need of at least a facelift if not a major renovation in some areas. Room - generally clean but showing a lot of wear. Also had a tub on the balcony that blocked half of the doorway to get out. Positive note was we had a little bit of view to ocean. All pools need some good cleaning and general maintenance. Infinity adults only pool is right outside lobby (no privacy from everyone) and is not an infinity pool. Has one badly in need of repair ladder at one end to get in/out. Supposedly 5 restaurants including buffet but really only four as one just changes from day to day to different name and menu. All very small so expect to wait for a seat. Food okay. Faye number of Baku beds so that was nice but a lot if broken loungers. The “upgrades” to Sun club not worth it. Premium alcohol non existent, rooftop area has glass railings so dirty they were hard to see through. Did have snacks though which were ok. Also talk to you about meeting for travel club they say takes 90 mins. Over breakfast but was actually 4 hours long with pretty intense sales pitch. Fir meeting we did get a massage and special dinner. There are also confusing coupons given (two kinds) mage sure you are clear on what they are used for and that some have to be used at time of purchase such as $10 towards wine at time of ordering. Can’t use at checkout. Overall staff were good but I’d really only rate this a 3 star hotel.
There are lots of seaweeds/algae, and it smells really bad, the beach is really bad. And they don’t have beach volleyball. La playa esta horrible por la culpa del sargazo, huele mal, y estropea la vista de la playa, una lastima
