Occidental at Xcaret Destination

Rooms. We are a family of 12 and had 3 rooms 19226,19227,19228 and 19310 all rooms were nice and clean mini fridge restocked the fridge was not very cold everything was spotless 3 of the rooms overlooked the pool and the other room overlooked some trees and had monkeys on there balcony.

Pools. We only really used the main pool with the bar no problems getting loungers any time of the day lot's of room in the water never felt crowded the water was warm like a bath but was still refreshing when you entered. Pool was cleaned on a daily basis removing leaves etc.

Food. Buffet restaurant for Breakfast was really good massive selection including champagne if you fancied it. Only tried the Buffet twice for dinner and the kids struggled on both occasions but the food from the buffet in general was good.

Lunch we ate mostly at the beach for lunch massive variety from pizza, Pasta , seafood just about everything good waiter service as well, We also tried the snack bar above the pool again no problems and nice food.

Dinner. Steak House excellent service and food the Steak with Cajun crust was beautiful we eat here twice and both times we absolutely loved it.

Oriental, Food was amazing however we did feel a bit rushed in there one of our party was still eating there soup when the main course arrived but the standard of food was excellent.

Italian Great service and food once again was fantastic can't complain about anything there.

Paco's Taco's and pizza. Really good the Taco's are nice and served very quickly the Pizza was beautiful freshly made and really delicious

Our only problems with the restaurant's was there could never give us a table of 12 and half of the time we would have two tables of 6 but half way across the room from each other which was not ideal

Staff. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful just be careful of the guys at the information desk based as you will into your block as there are very friendly but it's a timeshare scheme.

Beach - Cove was really nice again no lounger issues we came here late afternoon and always found what we wanted plenty of fishes in the sea and come in very shallow water.

Entertainment We didn't do all the shows but the Michael Jackson one was OK but the real winner was the Disney show that was fantastic and the kids loved it.

Wildlife Was everywhere from Deer's to monkeys just everything if you like animals and jungle surroundings this is the place for you.

Overall A fantastic hotel unlike any other I have been to with the settings and the wildlife could not fault it.

We done the Xcaret park for 2 days it is extremely expensive we did the swimming under the cave and the boat ride were favourites of ours and the show you can't miss it's amazing so much going on we booked the VIP which cost 35 usd and you had a seat 4 rows from the front we got a bottle of either Red, White or sparkling wine each and some nuts fantastic service and just made the show that more special.

Overall a fantastic family holiday and would recommend

We loved this resort!!! Not only are the grounds beautiful the staff was kind and they made you feel like you're on vacation. The added bonus was seeing so many animals everyday!! The closeness of the resort to so many of the other parks made it easy to enjoy outside activities. There was plenty of food options and several pools, the beach is perfect with no seaweed!! There's a gym and spa and tennis, pickle ball, basketball, something to always do. So peaceful, a piece of paradise.

Maricela and Ruby helped us prepare for a wedding event and did a beautiful job on our nails. They were kind and gentle. Would recommend coming by.
