La Casa de la Playa

La Casa de la Playa (CDLP) is an absolutely stunning property. From the moment you arrive, it is clear that every single detail has been thoroughly thought through, right down to the custom scents engineered for each unique space.

The accommodations are spectacular. Our room was massive, beautifully appointed, and featured a wonderful outdoor terrace complete with a hammock and a private plunge pool that we thoroughly enjoyed. We actually ended up staying in two different rooms during our trip due to a minor issue with the first one, but you truly cannot go wrong with the view here. Our first room looked out into a lush wall of trees, which felt incredibly private and serene. Our second room sat just above the tree line, giving us a gorgeous view of the ocean.

The service across the board was completely impeccable. The private airport drivers were incredibly kind and lovely. Our dedicated butlers, Gabriela and Francisco, went above and beyond every single day, constantly looking out for us and finding ways to elevate our stay (which was a tall order considering everything was already flawless!). Service at the restaurants and pools was equally outstanding, and a special shoutout must go to Luis at the rooftop pool—he was absolutely incredible and anticipated our every need. Even the in-room amenities are elite; they provide top-tier slippers, high-quality sunscreen, toothpaste, and even fresh aloe vera for those sunny days.

The food was good everywhere, but because everything is a multi-course culinary experience, we did get a little tired of heavy fine dining for every single meal. We were incredibly grateful that we had cross-property access to head over to Hotel Xcaret Arte to grab something casual and simple when we wanted to change it up.

A couple of pro-tips for future travelers:

The Parks: While the included Xcaret parks are incredibly fun, if your main goal is to spend all day park-hopping, you are better off booking at Hotel Xcaret México or Arte. You come to CDLP to truly stay at CDLP and soak in the exclusive boutique environment.

The Spa: We ventured over to the Muluk Spa at Arte for massages and facials, and my biggest recommendation is to skip the trek and book your treatments directly at the CDLP spa instead.

Lastly, the sargassum seaweed was unfortunately quite bad during our stay, making the beach unusable for most of the week, though it did clear up and look absolutely beautiful on the day we left. Thankfully, the property has so many jaw-dropping pools and hidden nooks that the beach being out of commission didn't ruin our trip at all. We will absolutely be back!

From the concierge team, mayordomos, bartenders, servers, hosts, and drivers — everyone went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.

Our experience started about a month before our arrival with my concierge, Naomi Ruiz. She helped me plan and reserve everything from special dinners at Xcaret Park, hydrotherapy, massages, and our cave tour at Xplor Park. Her customer service exceeded my expectations, and she made the planning process so easy and special.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at Casa de la Playa, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Every detail, every gesture, and every thoughtful touch made us feel incredibly special.

The restaurants are on another level — the food, service, and atmosphere were amazing. The rooms were absolutely WOW! They are spacious, beautiful, and have breathtaking ocean views.

What impressed us the most was the attention to detail and how everyone made us feel cared for. Karina also made our stay even more special with the way she treated us and continued to assist us with a few things even after we had already left Casa de la Playa.

Casa de la Playa completely reset the bar for luxury travel. We've stayed at several high-end resorts, but nothing has come close to this experience. From the moment we arrived, the service incredible. Every staff member anticipated our every need without ever being intrusive. The property itself is breathtaking. Our suite was incredible. The food deserves its own review. Every restaurant was outstanding, but the culinary experience at HA and Omakase (Tah-Xido) were stand outs! Centli was amazing as well. The presentation was artistic without sacrificing flavor, and every course felt like a true experience rather than just dinner. Don;t sleep on lunch by the pool, it exceeded our expectations. One of the things we appreciated most was how peaceful the resort felt. It never felt crowded, because there were literally only a handful of guests. We ventured over to Arte for the breakfast buffet, speak easy and upbeat vibes. It was an easy walk between resorts. The included experiences, premium drinks, transportation, and overall attention to detail made the all-inclusive concept feel completely different from anything we've experienced before. There were no hidden upsells or constant sales pitches. If you're celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply want to spoil yourselves, I honestly can't recommend Casa de la Playa enough. It isn't inexpensive, but after staying here, we truly felt like it was worth every penny. We've visited many beautiful places, but Casa de la Playa is the first resort that's left us saying, "We're definitely coming back."
