Ventus At Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort features a contemporary, stylish aesthetic that blends local Mexican materials with modern design. Because it shares facilities across a sprawling complex, there is plenty of space to roam, though the layout means walking up to 20 minutes to cross between sister properties. The vibe leans family-oriented and can get lively and loud during peak times due to children's activities and music by the main pools, though adults-only spaces are carved out for quieter moments. The Beach: While beachfront, guest reviews note that the actual beach is often plagued by heavy sargassum seaweed, resulting in an unpleasant odor and making the ocean water less than ideal for swimming. The Pools: High points include a massive main pool featuring waterfalls, swim-under bridges, and in-water lounge chairs. A distinct adults-only pool area is situated near the beach.
Steven and I have been returning to EL CId, in Puerto Morelos every year, mostly twice each years since 2006. This resort is our second home and the employees are our family. We have been very blessed to meet so many amazing people, both employees and guests! We love to spend time outside of El CId with our extended El Cid family This most recent trip was no exception, Spending time with Sara Niembro, Paulina Jiminez, Heyshell Romo, Alan Villasenor, Jose Ruiz , Alma Valerio, Carlos Gonzalez and Hiram Morales always makes for a great time!
We understand that this was extremely low occupancy and that is what caused restaurant closures and nightly entertainment snafus. We were disappointed but understand the reasons.
Senora Mayra Visuett is greatly missed in building 25. She always had a way of anticipating our every need in our room. Alan Villasenor, Alma Valerio and Carlos Medina took excellent care of us in their capacity as butlers. We never needed to ask for anything. They already know our preferences for everything and obtain them whenever possible.
All of the concierge in Ventus helped us in one way or another, like trying to locate a sweater that was taken off the back of my chair, at a Casino Night. Unfortunately it was not returned. Jose Ruiz with the help of Sara Niembro reported a huge problem I was experiencing with wifi and calling my doctor in NYC. I needed to speak to my doctor for an urgent matter. Jose and Sara made sure the wifi was reported. Both of them made sure I got through to my doctor.
I also want to give thanks to Rebecca, our dealer at Casino Night. She made the game so much fun and we looked for her Black Jack table each Friday night.
Overall a very positive experience. Suit was comfortable, grounds beautiful maintained, stunning rooftop infinity pool. Spa was a highlight as well. All inclusive package exceeded expectations — variety of dining options and excellent food. Downside was the beach which was rocky and affected by sargassum.
Negative experience with concierge, they wanted $200 to mail back the watch we left in our suite. Worth keeping in mind.
An amazing trip. The resort is always super clean and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and the A/C is awesome. The staff always willing to help and the bartender at Ventus Lobby, Jorge, went abve and beyond with his drink options. Restaraunt options are geat and the servers are always friendly and helpful with suggestions. Cant wait to return
Everything about our stay at MARINA ELCID is wonderful. We love the spacious clear pools, the beautiful clean rooms, the delicious variety of food and drinks, cleanliness of the entire resort, the staff from the outdoor landscaping crew (which keeps the entire grounds looking fresh and clean all the time), maid service, food staff, (from servers to chefs), and towel service. But the two guys that make it all run smoothly for my husband and me are Are Mendez and Manuel Diaz. These two are always in touch with me and make it easy for me to stay in touch with them. I ask and they make it happen whether they are on site or off. I can always rely on them. If not for them, my stay would not be as memorable. Thank you Are and Manuel. See you in September. They are the two that keep us going back twice a year and staying for 3 weeks at a time.
