Major Dissappointment!!!
So we were 4 different families (12 members total) at the resort first week of Oct. Pros:
- Activities for kids and families
- Grounds kept clean and well
- Waterpark
Cons:
- Horrrible food and service at the restaurants I mean it was the worst food I've ever had in a resort. We went to different restaurants and our favorite for taste was the Japanese Zen, but even that was very disorganized with kids portions for all. We all ended up going to the buffet afterwards. We even saw two other families do the same. The Rio, Brazilian, restaurant served us raw meat, which the waiter himself acknowledged (then why did you serve it to us). We had to wait 15-20 minutes between the waiters serving us meats. We ended up leaving for the buffet again.
- Beach: Do not come to this resort if you want even a mildly decent beach. It is the worst!
- Stink from the sargassum (brown seaweed in the beach) during our entire stay throughout the resort. I mean it was just unbearable....like rotten eggs.
- I got infected with E-Coli bacteria from the food during my stay.

We stayed at the Royalton for a wedding and had such a great time! The resort was beautiful, the atmosphere was fun, and everything overall was wonderful.
A HUGE shoutout to Miguel, Hugo, Leonardo, and Beatrix! They were hands down the best servers and really made our experience even better. Their hospitality and service were amazing!
The food was good, the staff was friendly, and we genuinely enjoyed our stay.
We did visit during hurricane season, so we experienced some rain and there was seaweed on the beach. However, that’s completely out of the resort’s control! I always recommend researching the weather and seasonal beach conditions before booking a tropical vacation so you know what to expect.
Overall, we had an amazing experience, made some great memories, and would absolutely recommend the Royalton! 🌴🍹

Would highly recommend this resort in Mexico. Staff cannot do enough to make your stay exceptional. Very relaxing, very clean, excellent food and with the pool butlers Miguel, Juan and Alfredo at hand all day, you don’t even have to lie your towel on your lounger because it’s done for you!! The staff make this stay worthwhile. I cannot praise EVERY one of them enough for going above and beyond for the guests needs. 10/10
