We loved the week we spent in our preferred club oceanfront swim out. We were in room 204 in building 2. The room was very clean and spacious. Any maintenance requests were tended to quickly. Bascilio took us on a tour of the resort by golf cart and he handled our luggage with care! Martha and Antonio both served drinks directly to our swim out and provided us with amazing service. I would definitely book this room again just for the service at the swim out with the amazing view. I loved all the restaurants but the French restaurant was my favorite! The French onion soup and apple tart are the best! We got a free hydrotherapy session with our preferred room. Lizabeth guided us through our session and it was one of the best hydrotherapy sessions I have gone to at a resort. The bike tour to Puerto Morales with Edwardo was also great! We went to several shows while on the property including the cloud show and magician. Both were great!
The only issue I had with the resort was the air conditioning did not appear to be working at several of the restaurants and the PTAC units had visible fault codes.
I had an overall great experience at Dreams Sapphire. This is a very chill resort which I enjoyed. Food and entertainment felt like enough. Rooms cleaned and our AC worked well.
Lots of spaces in the resort are outside- lobby- bar, etc. this was odd to me at first but I appreciated the fresh air by the end.
Bike Tour is a must! Everyone was super nice!
The most nurturing and friendly staff you have ever met. They welcome with a smile and treat children with kindness and respect. Crafts and activities with care! Our kids could not wait to spend time with Mich, Fanny, Sofia, Nancy and Yaya.
I stayed at Dreams Sapphire with friends for my birthday trip, and we had an AMAZING time! The resort was beautiful, extremely clean, the food was GOOD, and my friends enjoyed their stay too.
Before arrival, Ruth answered so many of my questions, and Jose Romero helped with questions and my room upgrade. Roberto was wonderful during our Preferred Club check-in and throughout the stay—patient, professional, and helpful. My birthday celebration started immediately with a Happy Birthday decoration on my door and cake waiting inside! I also loved the in-room bar, which was restocked daily, including my liquor choice—TEQUILA! 😂 Jimena was also very helpful with things I needed restocked.
The Preferred Club rooftop was one of my FAVORITE areas! 😍 The rooftop pool, swim-up bar, Gohan Sushi Bar, and AMAZING view are all together. Fernando, Gabriela, and Yurcson provided great bar service, and Martha was always friendly and accommodating. The sushi at Gohan was AMAZING—some of my favorite food of the trip—and Yovani was friendly, attentive, and went out of his way to help when I needed assistance.
And I ATE GOOD! 😂 As a pescatarian, I had plenty of options. Portofino was delicious: salmon pizza, veggie lasagna, and another salmon dish I loved. Ramon and manager Luis were very helpful. At Himitsu, we enjoyed the food and watching the hibachi show; our server was excellent, although I unfortunately forgot his name. The shrimp tacos were really good too! Susana and Dolores at El Patio/World Café were sweet and welcoming, and Shadaya was an attentive server. I also loved the poolside pizza, smoothies, sorbet, and sandwiches at The Fresh, and the late-night café sandwiches/snacks after the sports bar closed.
Oliva was a HUGE help coordinating my spa services with Alisa and arranging transportation. My massage therapist was AMAZING (I completed a feedback form for her but forgot her name), and they even had a birthday banner at the spa. 🥹🎂
DJ Armando at the sports bar was a VIBE! 🔥🎶 I caught him Friday and Sunday, and Sunday night we stayed until midnight to bring in August 31—MY BIRTHDAY! I danced, had drinks with friends, met new people, and had a GREAT time.
On my last day, with about FIVE MINUTES before leaving for the airport, a server and host surprised me with a beautiful carrot cake with Happy Birthday written on it, a huge sparkler, and sang to me! ❤️ Between my room, spa, nightlife, and that final surprise, I genuinely felt celebrated.
TRANSPORTATION TIP: The resort doesn’t provide transportation itself, but staff can connect you with transportation. Oliva connected us with Moises Pérez, Taxi #464, and I HIGHLY recommend asking for him if possible! 🙌🏾 He took us to our Saturday boat party, waited and returned us; took us shopping in Cancún Sunday; then picked us up at 8 AM Monday for the airport. Despite a language barrier, translation worked perfectly. He was patient, dependable, professional, and accommodating. I’d absolutely use him again!
What stands out is how many employees I came home remembering by name. Great service deserves recognition.
I do want to be transparent: one disappointing service incident occurred in the rooftop area, and I reported it to management. At the time of this review, I’m still waiting to hear how it will be addressed. I won’t let one incident erase the MANY positive experiences we had.
For the overall vibe, we went for an adult friends’ birthday trip and had a great time, but I personally see Dreams Sapphire as more of a family-resort atmosphere than the adults-focused/party vibe I’d choose for another friends trip. That’s not a negative—it depends on the vacation you want.
Would I return? YES, but probably with my husband and kids for a family trip. ❤️🇲🇽 And if I come back…somebody find Moises! 😂🙌🏾
If we could rate it 6/5 stars we would! We were a family of 3 and absolutely loved our experience. We felt safe and had so much fun at the resort! So many food options to pick from, great entertainment and the people were amazing. Francisco from the world cafe was amazing couldn’t recommend him more he had great service! We went during seaweed season but still had tons of fun by the pool and using the hotels amenities. All of the staff were so nice and welcoming and we had would recommend this resort so much!
