The Reef 28... Better Than Advertised
We just wrapped up a fantastic stay at The Reef 28 in Playa del Carmen and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Even though the weather was a bit mixed during our trip, the hotel itself made it so easy to unwind, relax, and thoroughly enjoy our getaway. Our room was awesome, very spacious, comfortable, and the perfect home base.
One of the biggest pleasant surprises was the food, which was way better than we anticipated! Every meal we had on-site was fresh, flavorful, and a cut above typical hotel or resort dining.
Above all, the service across the entire property was outstanding, and we have to give a massive shoutout to Freddy at the rooftop bar. He was our main guy when we were there and is truly the best ever! Freddy was quick, genuinely friendly, and always one step ahead—anticipating what we needed before we even had to ask. He really elevated our time at the rooftop pool and bar and made us feel so well taken care of.
If you are looking for a spot in Playa del Carmen where you can truly relax with great food, awesome rooms, and top-tier hospitality, The Reef 28 is it. Thank you to Freddy and the entire team for making our trip so memorable!

Freddy is very reliable, he gave good service, always there when we need him, we didnt really have to tell him our needs, he would come even before we asked him for it. His service is fast, efficient, and friendly. Overall good service at this resort, cant complain. Foods and drinks are really good. No complaints. Employees arr very friendy and efficient.
Birthday vaca!
Freddy is an amazing server and never lets the cup run dry. I read some bad reviews online but my experience was great. Great staff, great food and a quiet room. The pool was closed for 1 day for cleaning and they sent us a bottle of champagne to ease the pain lol. Overall. Much better than expected. Yo recommends this hotel
