One of our favorite resorts
Our vacation at Secrets Maroma Beach was excellent! We have stayed at dozens of different resorts and this is my top 1 or 2 resorts of all. We booked a preferred club swim out room and it was everything we hoped for. The resort is well maintained and the food and beverages were all very good to excellent and the employees were all friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend the preferred club if you can afford it. The location of the room to the main pool, ocean, breakfast restaurant and the 2 preferred clubs made it more enjoyable.
Beautiful, Just Short of Amazing
The resort was absolutely beautiful! They keep the beach well cared for and renting a beach cabana is a must-do. Our concierge, Ángel, was attentive and extremely helpful. The staff was generally very friendly. If we had one suggestion for improvement it would be for some elevated Mexican cuisine on property. The options that were there did not lean into that, surprisingly. There was also a large amount of construction on the property that took away from the experience a bit. However, it looks like they are building something impressive so maybe that's a plus if you're considering visiting.

An all-inclusive experience like no other.
Pros: Food is 10/10. The staff is very attentive and there to serve you. The aesthetic is captivating, and the beach is beautiful. During sargassum season they have a tractor that goes up and down the beach cleaning it up. The rooms are upgraded and the bedding is luxury.
Con: the bottom of the main pool is rough/rock, so you may want to wear swim shoes. There isn’t nightlife. There is a bar that has a DJ but it’s not a party vibe.
Nice hotel, just give it time to finish renovation sometimes in 2027
When I made reservation I ask about renovation mentioned in the other reviews, they told me it's already done. but oh la la... as soon as i'm arrived I can see that construction wall blocking the view to the garden and pool, half of the view are gone and the other half can only see green trees and concrete walk. At night there's another construction going on in Unlimited vacation building right across my room, that metal grinding/cutting and raw steel hammer bang really good to keep me awake. Strangely before that one of the sales lady over at unlimited vacation told me there was no renovation on their side, she told me it was next hotel. hmmh..
Average resort but customer service is a A++++++++
The best thing about this resort was Brandon our concierge! I also interacted with Lourdes in group sales and she is the most professional, organized person. Brandon and Lourdes truly love their jobs! Shout out to him! Portofino and Bordeaux were excellent but the wait times were long. The other food is average or slightly below - there is not enough variety. Preferred Club is not worth the money. The construction did not bother us and the staff did their best to keep the sargassum off the beach.
