Beautiful resort - eat cautiously
We were very excited to stay at this resort and whilst we booked on the Secrets side - upon check in we paid to upgrade to Impressions. Our butlers Julio and Xochitl were beyond phenomenal.
The resort is beautiful and there is SO much room to do plenty without ever feeling overcrowded. We stayed 09/09-09/17 and still didn’t experience everything. We did also join UVC so we are looking forward to that.
While we intend to return there was a major concern.
I’m unsure what happened during our stay but my partner and I both began feeling ill on our 6th day and we’ve been home now for almost two weeks and still very ill. We only ate on property and never consumed anything off property with the exception of bottled water at the airport.
There is a Facebook group where other guests have discussed this so at least I feel better knowing it’s not just “us” there are dozens other.
I never received a survey to report anything. Things happen and it is what it is might just stay away from the tartare’s and raw seafood.
An unforgettable stay — Impression Moxché truly lives up to the hype
We just returned from four nights at Impression Moxché and genuinely did not want to leave. We’ve stayed at beautiful resorts before, but there was something about the combination of the property, food, wellness experiences, and especially the people here that made this trip feel incredibly special.
From the moment we arrived, the resort was stunning. Our suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and prepared with such thoughtful touches, including rose petals on the bed when we arrived. The Impression side felt peaceful and intimate while still giving us access to everything at Secrets Moxché. We loved being able to spend part of the day somewhere quiet and relaxing, then wander into the larger resort whenever we wanted more energy.
The food was a huge highlight. We tried Allora, Suki, Ember, Cielo, Seasoul and several breakfast and lunch options throughout our stay. There was so much variety that four nights honestly wasn’t enough. Cielo was particularly memorable—the rooftop setting alone is gorgeous—and we loved being able to have completely different dining experiences every day. Seasoul was also such a nice lunch spot, and Suki was a great dinner. Food and drinks felt like a genuine part of the experience rather than simply something included in an all-inclusive package.
Our butler, César, was wonderful and helped make everything effortless, especially arranging our dinner reservations and assisting us throughout the stay. We really appreciated his kindness and attentiveness.
One of our absolute favorite memories, though, was yoga at the spa with Ivan. We happened to be the only two guests in the class, so it became this incredibly personal experience for my husband and me. Ivan was warm, encouraging and so much fun that we came away talking about it for the rest of the trip. Being able to enjoy the spa afterward made the whole morning even better. It was one of those unexpected vacation moments that ends up becoming a favorite memory.
The service throughout Impression was consistently warm without feeling forced. Whether we were at the pool, restaurants, spa or simply walking around the property, we felt genuinely looked after. There are countless beautiful details throughout Moxché, but ultimately it was the staff who elevated the experience.
We stayed four nights using World of Hyatt points, and this was easily one of our favorite redemptions we’ve ever made. If you’re debating whether Impression is worth choosing over the regular Secrets side, for us the answer was absolutely yes. The additional privacy, service, spaces and overall atmosphere made it feel like a resort within a resort.
Four nights went by WAY too quickly. We came home already talking about when we could return.
Thank you to César, Ivan, and the entire Impression Moxché team for such a memorable stay. We’ll be thinking about this trip for a long time. 💗🌴
Sick in Mexico
The place was nice, but we and it seemed like everyone else had extreme gestational issues. Would have been a different if not that—never had this issue at hotels in this price point. I would of wrote it off as bad luck, but it was so many people at the resort with same issue
Exceptional All Inclusive
We had an exceptional time at Impression Moxche! Last year we went to a Secrets Resort in a different country and it was fine. I had heard Impression Moxche was "way better' but didn't know what to expect. Wow! Everything about the stay was spectacular from arrival through checkout. The property is beautiful, the rooms are generous in size & amenities and incredibly clean, the staff is first rate and the food is fantastic (who says that about an AI resort?!).
We stayed in the standard room and it was plenty big enough for the two of us. There was a soaking tub on the patio. I love a good bath, but didn't understand the draw to take a bath outside in the heat? The butlers continuously offered to "draw a bath" for me, but I am perfectly capable of turning on the water to my desired temperature when I am ready. I did ask if they could leave some bubble bath and they said no, but I could use the (yummy smelling) shampoo and they could leave bath salts- that worked! Housekeeping did an impeccable job each morning and we had turndown service at night. We loved the stone used in the rooms- it is elegant, easy to clean, but also not slippery. I think my husband would renovate our own home out of the same material if we could!
We live near a beach so the beach wasn't the draw for us. We went down one night just for a picture. There are folks selling massages, etc on the beach which can be annoying, but I know it is how they make their living. The pools were beautiful and we were always about to find a lounger (thank you Christin for helping us and for even removing a wet cushion so we could have a dry one!). It was easy to access a bar for drinks and snacks at all the pools. The pools were kept very clean.
The food was surprisingly fantastic! Usually food at an AI is, well, "meh." That is not the case here at all. The food was all outstanding and also very easy to access. Most of the bars had snack options. The lobby of Impression always had a small buffet of breakfast food, lunch food, evening snacks, etc. We tried as many outlets as we could, but still didn't make it to all of them.
TIP- The Observatory is on the top floor of the main Secrets Building and is only for Preferred Guests and Impression Guests. It is a great place for lunch or for a sunset drink. Nobody told us about it, but I remembered it from another TripAdvisor review! Also, Impression gusts are entitled to the Ribeye at Ember, but the waitstaff is not quick to share this. Better if you know to ask!
I did make it to the gym every morning and had no problem getting equipment. I did hear other people complain they had to wait, but I never experienced that. Maybe because I am an early riser? We did not visit the spa. The prices were crazy high which was a deterrent.
The evening activities were a little lacking for us. There was a "show" every night. We went once and it was fine- but not amazing. They had Karaoke at Dark Horse one night which was fun. Wish they had it more frequently. We also went to "Mexican Night" at the main Secrets main restaurant and enjoyed that. it was a little difficult to find things to do a night if you didn't just want to sit at a bar and drink (in which case there were plenty of options!).
We had a lovely time and actually left feeling relaxed. There are so many places in the world to visit, we don't often repeat places. However this was such a nice, relaxing week, we both agree we would like to return...and sooner rather than later.
Suggestion- bring a plastic bag! We went swimming the afternoon before we left and our suits were still very wet in the morning. We got plastic bags from reception. Tip for Impression- please invest in a clothes ringer like are at many gyms in the US with pools. That would be a nice amenity for guests to have access too (maybe in the restrooms near the Impression lobby).

Impression! Impression! Impression!
I’ve just returned from a five-day visit with ten of my college sorority sisters from the University of Alabama’s Lambda Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in fall 1978. We're all giving a big bravo to Impression Moxché and my UVC teams for their outstanding hospitality.
Thank you to UVC Services, especially Shelia, for reaching out before our visit and making the magic happen with such attention to detail and grace. Isabel, Director of Impression Moxché, is an exceptional leader who always ensures her team performs to the highest standards.
From the moment we stepped out of our SUVs until the time we departed, every interaction was meaningful and engaging. Every bellman was friendly, helpful, respectful, and joyful. These wonderful professionals are part of why I keep coming back. It's extremely important to see familiar faces on return visits. The bellmen make the first impression at this magnificent resort a warm welcome, and everything that follows is always heartfelt and memorable. Impression Moxché continues to shine in excellence and comfort. The new indoor Cielo Restaurant is a wonderful addition. This resort remains well-maintained, with fantastic food presentation and flavor, as well as picturesque views. This resort is definitely a travel bucket-list destination and experience. The service teams are fantastic, and they work together to create a unique guest experience —from the unsung heroes (operators, in-room dining, housekeepers and turndown service, minibar staff, pool maintenance, yoga instructors, etc.).
My sorority sisters were beyond impressed and completely elated with the Impression Moxché experience. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
