Sandos Caracol Eco Resort

Not what we expected. Reception staff and concierge staff extremely unhelpful. Booking À la carte restaurants a nightmare. Can only be done on the app and reservations open at midnight so if you want a hope in hell getting one you need to wait until midnight and get on quickly.

We booked a restaurant for it to be closed on the day we booked for with no information from hotel or help.

Buffet food is average and cold at best.

When discussing this with staff, I said to them “you just don’t care” and the response was yes.

We were at the resort at the end of June-July 2026. We have been to the resort several times now over the past 10 years. My family loves it, we know when we need a vacation that going to Sandos will be the perfect relaxing vacation and reset for us!! Everywhere you go on the resort, the staff are friendly and greet you warmly. Every morning, at breakfast, Karla greeted us at the Toscana Restaurant with a beautiful smile! Karla is amazing, she made sure we had everything we needed. The service she provided was fantastic!! We look forward to our next visit!! If you need a vaction for your family, I highly recommend this resort. We have had an amazing stay every time we have vacationed there!

This is a beautiful resort and the staff are very friendly starting from check in we were checked in by a lovely young lady named Mariana she was so warm and welcoming and patient answering any questions we had with a smile The rooms are basic rooms but they were clean and our maid did a lovely job of keeping it clean The resort is pretty big and has all kinds of little paths you can follow and see cenotes and ruins and it is well kept very clean We stayed in the adult section and it was lovely the pool there was large and kept spotless and the restaurant had some good food for lunch if you didn’t want to go to the buffet the added bonus was the monkeys that seemed to visit this area they were the best The beach had lots of seaweed but that would be the time of year we went (we knew that when booking not the resorts fault) so we stuck to the pool The food would be the only downfall to this resort after we booked they told us that the main buffet would be closed for renovations so they opened the Mexico and Italian restaurants as buffets the food was ok you won’t starve but the selection was lacking and for some reason it was always cold even though it was under the heat lamps The taco place was pretty good On Friday nights they have vendors come in and and they have food and games and they also have items for sale the food from there was delicious Overall if you are not picky you will find something to eat I would return another time when the buffet is opened and give it another try for sure because everything else is fantastic.
