The Riu Playacar All Inclusive is a great hotel located just in front of the renowned Playa del Carmen beach, worldwide famous for its crystal clear waters and soft fine sands. A diverse selection of shopping areas featuring shops, cafés, bars and restaurants are to be found in the vicinity. This family friendly beach resort hotel offers a variety of services and activities and provides a warm and professional service.
Mexico is always reliable for a good holiday and the riu hotels are great.great food and drink, entertainments ok.we had a lovely room, near the beach, clean and tidy,a different towel animal every day. All the staff are always good, friendly and helpful. Only downside this trip was the seaweed which nobody had any control over.the lads cleared it everyday and it came straight back. Staying at the riu playacar,we could use the riu yucatan and riu tequila everyday for food and drink etc,but not for our evening meal. Another minor winge, which was due to customers more than staff, plates and cups left lying about.annoying because people get up off their sunbeds to go get a drink or something to eat,but they won't get up to take back their emptys. Cancun airport is useless we waited an hour for suitcases, again.customs was fine transfers fine. On the whole a great holiday in mexico again.
I Wanne give credits to bernie and Felix they made our day so much better and everyone else was also the best I have never been to a hotel so happy and nice.
I was just at the Playacar on my bachelorette trip and had the best time. The facilities were clean, the food was amazing, there was never a shortage of activities. We got great lounge chairs each day and it didn’t feel overcrowded. The staff are also a huge highlight. Felix and Julio from the entertainment staff made everything so much fun, especially the silent disco! We loved the neon night at the tequila, and the options at the resort for booking excursions. The front desk was always helpful and we were able to get late checkout at a small fee. Can’t wait to be back!
So we had a pretty good trip, travelling with neuro- diverse children. Apart from initial room issues (lived out of a suitcase for two days), we eventually settled in and had a pretty relaxing time. Food was pretty good, room too. Staff really attentive, except for the reception staff who on occasions were a bit snippy. The hotel manager was great! Pool was good, you can generally get a sunbed but sad to say my British counterparts were unashamedly bad at reserving sunbeds. There was no provision to help people with disabilities have close access to pool. First selfishly come, first selfishly served (come on Brits we are better than that)! All in all a fantastic Caribbean location, great beach, bit of seaweed now and then. I highly recommended this place and hope to return!
This was my family’s second time going to a Riu resort in Playa Del Carmen and it was just as amazing as the first time! Our personal favourite activity was the aqua-fit (lead by the amazing Bernie)! Head down to the pool bar to have an amazing chat with Sergio, Alexis, Adolfo, and Ule, who are the friendliest bartenders I’ve ever met (and always have a great drink recommendation). Every morning we were greeted at breakfast with a friendly smile and good morning from Omar. I strongly recommend to try every restaurant at least once. My personal favourites were the Asian restaurant and the steak house, where we had the absolute best servers Mijail, Eduardo, Lizabeth, Hugo, Mauricio, Gina, and Gabriel. There are also a wide range of activities throughout the day everywhere from dance lessons to bingo, lead by Felix, Karla, Tina, and Jessica. And finally a huge shout out to Raquel and Oscar as well as the rest of the cleaning, landscaping, and facility maintenance staff who work incredibly hard to provide a clean and beautiful place to enjoy. Overall we had an amazing vacation and thank you so much to all of the staff who made that possible!
