The Riu Playacar All Inclusive is a great hotel located just in front of the renowned Playa del Carmen beach, worldwide famous for its crystal clear waters and soft fine sands. A diverse selection of shopping areas featuring shops, cafés, bars and restaurants are to be found in the vicinity. This family friendly beach resort hotel offers a variety of services and activities and provides a warm and professional service.
This was our first time visiting this resort for starters it was the same food every day, breakfast lunch, and dinner and was borderline OK. pool area was clean and well taken care of the pool itself was totally disgusting on the bottom mold everywhere around the seats the bottom of the walking area had bugs fruit bird crap. My husband and I went to the front desk and asked them if we could have a bellboy come up in the morning and help us with our luggage, my husband is 72. I am 62 with multiple sclerosis and leukemia. They told us no they do not have anybody working that early in the morning since we have to be at the front of the resort at 6:50 for pick up so we then ask them if we could come up and get a cart to bring down to the room in the morning to load our luggage on and bring it back up mind you we are on the second floor and have to go down 31 steps to get to the landing both people we spoke to told us absolutely not. We could not use that under any circumstances. I do not recommend this place at all the bartenders at the pool bar were amazing Friendly the staff at the restaurants except for the Italian Restaurant were all very friendly and customer oriented, but we will not be back to this place. The people at the front desk desperately need customer service skills. They are very rude and very unacceptable.
Had a wonderful time! Beautiful facilities, delicious food and drinks, and the events staff were wonderful- especially Felix!
Good and clean resort. Employees were friendly and polite. This resort has an excellent breakfast buffet with plenty of options to choose from. The lunch buffet was average and the pool side lunch option (hotdogs, burgers, chips and cheese) was below average. The nightly dinner buffet was excellent and offered plenty of options to choose from. The speciality restaurants were disappointing overall with the Italian restaurant being the best option among the speciality restaurants. The pool area was good but the beach was invaded with seaweed. The nightly entertainment was awful.
We've had a fantastic stay at the Ruu Playcar. The rooms are spacious and well decorated with an iron, coffee machine, stocked fridge, mini bar and optics, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The bed was huge and so comfy and the room was spotlessly cleaned each day by Maria. The food in the three restaurants we ate in was excellent, with plenty of fresh selection. All the waiting and bar staff we're friendly, especially Uli in the pool bar and Troy on the lobby bar. The hotel in positioned a short walk from the other Riu hotels, in which we used the facilities in the evening. Theres also a small shopping center and good outdoor bar just across the road. Playa del Carmen is a short taxi ride away. I would definitely recommend and will return.
Absolutely brilliant 2 weeks, staff are absolutely great, they work so hard, should be paid a lot more! Rooms immaculate, pools lovely, and the entertainment staff are fab! White and neon parties, pool parties are a must, dont miss them! Special shout out to Berni, I had a great time in his exercise classes every day. He's doinv a great job entertaining everyone! Enrique, also, hes one of the waiters, wears orange uniform, he has a smile gor everyone and works so hard. Playa del Carmen is just along the road its great, the vendors will ask you to go in their shops, just politely say no, they are all very nice. Only downsides, sargassum was really bad and the Americans got a bit lairy, security kept them in check though! It was our second time, loved it!
