Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya

I LOVED our trip to the Paradisus La Perla. It was my birthday while we were there and at almost every meal I was given a birthday cake plate. It was incredible. The Reserve upgrade was awesome for us. Our concierge Adrian was lovely and worked with my partner to book me very special treats for my actual birthday. He took care of our bookings for all of our dinners and having a chat with him on WhatsApp was super handy. He was quick to respond always. On our first day, the shower only had cold water, but after a quick chat with him i was fixed immediately. We were booked in the Reserve suite, which is between the Master and Junior. Initially we were expecting a bathtub inside AND on our patio, but learned that swim-ups only have it on the patio. Also, the 'bar' images in the hotel provided images are wrong, you get one bottle of alcohol in the room, not all three. You can choose between Jack Daniels, Belvedere vodka or Mexcal. We went with the Mexcal. Our mini fridge was stocked everyday and because we were drinking the water they gave us extra. We did make sure to leave a few dollars everyday - but note that the housekeepers are different from the mini bar stockers so you may want to leave separate tips if you want extra stuff.

We didn't really eat the snacks, as we always ate at one of the restaurants. Our FAVORITE restaurant was the sushi restaurant both the Tepanyaki grill and the ala carte was great. SAL was included in our reserve reservations, and was super delicious as well. Hadar buffet was great and our sever (Shaira) remembered us even though we only we made it in 2x and was great. They also have to-go boxes if you need a snack on the run. We were always heading to some event or another so needed food to go sometimes. Santé was included as a reserve patron and was my favorite for breakfast every day with refreshed menu options as well as the regular menu. The Reserve lounge always had an amazing assortment of sandwiches and snacks if you were between restaurant times as well. And a great bar to get some cocktails.

NOTE for VEGETARIANS - most of the restaurants had restricted vegetarian options. I was travelling with a vegetarian and we had to ask for special accommodations at most restaurants because there were no real options for protein. The sushi restaurant had the best option with edamame and cooked tofu.

Swim up suite is the way to go ... I LOVED it. Being on the quiet pool was such a delight, very little disturbance noise wise and a nice big pool to swim in. The only downside is the lounges that are in the pool is just straight up cement and tiles. It would have been lovely to have some sort of cushion to lie on, but it wasn't offered. I loved being able to dip in and then head into our suite though and we had other lounges and day beds directly across from us at the pool that were always available. We were travelling during a quieter time of year though , so might not always be the case.

The pool was warm and SO clean. Everything was SO clean. We swam in all of the pools, the quiet one off our suite, the reserve pool and the general pool for adults only and the swim up bar was good - could take some time to get service but they were busy and it was HOT. Note the coconuts are cute but 12 bucks a pop and we recommend adding some actual malibu to get that full coconut flavor.

There were some cats and lots of wildlife - haha some got into the fruit at our different holistic wellness events at the La Perla gazebo. It was cute and everyone was unbothered.

Events - we did lots of the events onsite. We did the mixology classes a few times, always fun and learned about new drinks that I would absolutely make again. Then popped over to the next gazebo to do the arts project, we made dream catchers and did paintings on canvas and pottery, and learned about the history of Cacao (Reserve) with Eduardo. Bryan and the other entertainment team were always super helpful during the crafts. The Holistic experiences were amazing, the Mayan cleansing ritual and the cacao experience, the sound bath - all really beautiful. Yoga was a bit too early for us night owls, but it was so lovely to see people enjoying it. Evening entertainment was lovely and varied. The candlelight concert was SO GOOD and the band on the Friday night was very very good. The DJ was always on beforehand, but we did find there wasn't anywhere to go dancing in the evenings, which was a bit of a bummer because we personally enjoyed getting dressed up for dinner every night. If you want to make the most of the evening entertainments, make your dinner reservations for 6 or 6:30 as most things started at 8. :)

We had dinner on the beach for my birthday, but planned it too late so we missed out on the sunset and actually SEEING the ocean. haha, but the dinner was special and we received really special. Whatever you do, don't feed the wildlife, as cute as they are, they will hop right on the table. Very bold haha.

Honestly, this place is 100 percent worth it in my opinion and we would absolutely go back here. Thank you Paradisus for your efforts in making such memorable vacations!

The property was beautiful, clean and easy to access services. The staff were very helpful and responsive. The conceirge Fabien was helpful and very friendly. Planned activities and confirmed appointments with no problems. The housekeeping staff very attentive and service oriented. Bar snd restaurant staff also very friendly.
