Palafitos Overwater Bungalows

Just returned from palafitos. We travel all over the world in top class accommodations. To start; the rooms are really nice. Glass bottom floors outdoor shower and plunge pool. The room was a bit toasty even with ac at full blast but it is July. Little bugs in our room is ok but kinda gross. They did make up our room twice daily which is nice but expected for the price. The butter is is great if you like to be asked several times a day what your plan is for the day. We are the type that chills and it got kinda annoying. Food was better than average. But room service has the same menu daily. So if you want something diff you have to go to their restaurants. That is fine but a few nights we wanted to stay in bc one of us wasn’t feeling great and it got boring. Like mostly hamburgers and nachos. Nothing special. There is entertainment at mail pool such as water aerobics dance classes craft making etc. nothing crazy. Some nights have live music. It’s a great resort. But at 1300 a night not sure if I would come back. Prob spend that at a ritz or four seasons in the carribean.

"First Class" Those are the first 2 words that I've told everyone that's asked about our trip since we've been home. From the pick up to drop off, it was the most 1st class experience we've been on. Everyone from Alberto who greets you with a smile and jokes as he takes you on a tour around the property, to the two VERY attentive butlers Enrique and Fernanda who are on call to accommodate each and every need you could have during your stay. I've had great food at resorts but I can't stress enough how next level the food here was. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at the Palafitos restraunt, it all was incredible. I called one of the dinner appetizers "exquisite" which I've never used that word before and my wife said the steak the one night was the best steak she's ever had. I've gone this far and haven't even talked about the main reason we chose Palafitos, the Over Water Bungalow. We had daily 6:00 AM coffee service on our patio to watch the beautiful sunrise over the open ocean. During the day we went back and forth between the deck and the plunge pool. The water is so calm, if you love the water as much as we do and need to be as close to it as possible, there's no better way to vacation then to literally stay on the water. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, FIRST CLASS experience, I can't recommend Palafitos enough. Amazing experience!

My husband and I recently came to Palafitos to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. We stayed in an elite, ocean facing bungalow. When I say it was the BEST vacation I have ever been on, I am not exaggerating!!! We are from Texas and wanted a bungalow experience without flying around the world. We were familiar with El Dorado brands, but not Palafitos part of this resort. When we initially went o book the room, we were torn between the slightly cheaper bungalows that are beach facing versus the ocean facing ones. I am 100% happy we upgraded for the ocean view rooms! We had SO much privacy and the view was unmatched. We literally woke up to an ocean sunrise every morning. The porch, pool, and lower deck area were amazing. It was so nice to be able to walk out into the ocean any you wanted to! Or dip in your private pool! Our room was better than I imagined it would be. The glass floors were amazing! We spent so much time watching all the fish! There is even a glass floor in the restroom and indoor shower. The outdoor shower was a fun addition too! Our bed was extremely comfortable and they gave us a pillow menu to choose our favorite type of pillow. The room was spotless every day and we were well stocked on everything we would need. While the accommodations were 10 out of 10, the service was even better! Our butler was Yassir and he was the best! He took care of everything we needed and would offer us suggestions of excursions to do. He was incredibly helpful and kind! I would ask for Yassir again and again! We also had Alberto that would drive us around the El Dorado part of the resort too! He was so funny and clearly loves helping people! We enjoyed getting to know him and will miss his humor! We had countless other people who helped us throughout the stay and I have nothing bad to say about a single person. Everyone was kind and helpful. I can’t stress this enough…book this trip!!! My husband and I literally had a dream vacation with nothing that went wrong. We loved every minute and were so sad to leave. We will be back!!!
