Beach Santiago is the best. A Very friendly and hard worker. Made the beach the best place for us to hangout.
We visited the beach everyday this trip and we had the best beach waiter. Santiago remembered our drinks, names and was quick and attentive to our needs. See Santiago whenever you visit the beach!
Santiago at the beach was fantastic!
Visited Mike’s cafe everyday during our stay in Riviera Maya. The most amazing staff. Always smiling and willing to attend to us.
Mexican resorts get 5 stars based on how many pools/restaurants they have on site, not overall quality. Worth noting. This hotel is 10 years old now and the age is starting to show in the accommodation. I’d describe the room we stayed in as “tired”. The food is ok. Mexican and Blue moon probably the pick. The Italian was poor. Unless you upgrade to privilege or Beso the drinks are a bit meh. I became ill with suspected food poisoning after 4 days and was extremely unwell. Research shows food poisoning is relatively common in riviera maya resorts. Be warned. If you become unwell I suggest you take your own medicine as the resort shop wanted £50 (fifty pounds) for a packet of Imodium tablets. On return home I was diagnosed with Cyclospora, a transmissible infection reportable to the UK government. You have been warned!
The grounds are superb and the staff are lovely. If you go into Playa (£25 taxi each way) of the levels of hassle from the business owners. Don’t fall for the “remember me Im your waiter” from looking at your wrist band. The hotel grounds are amazing and there is a nice breeze at the beach if you want to get away from the “boom-boom” music at the pools. The only downside is the constant hassle from the massage/vape/trinket sellers.
The amazing staff really save this hotel. They are superb. Remember to tip them as they are worth every penny.
To summarise, don’t expect proper 5 star and be wary with food, shared serving utensils etc.
