Spray campus for mosquitoes, please.
This is a fantastic resort and I’ve enjoyed myself here at least six times. I reduced my usual 5 star rating by 2 stars because they have changed pest control protocols in the last year. During previous visits, although I am allergic to mosquito bites, I questioned the need for the mosquito repellant that they place in the suite restrooms because I had never been bitten. Never!
In October 2026, I woke up the first day scratching two mosquito bites and had 13 by the following day. Even the front desk person swatted one away when I stopped by to ask a question.Other guests were complaining, too.
The impeccable service is undermined by physical discomfort due to mosquito bites. The tradeoff is not acceptable, IMHO.
I hope the problem will be addressed quickly so I will be able to rate the facility five stars again. Else, I will have to reconsider where I will stay the next time.

Relaxing
Clean resort, great drinks, excellent food everywhere. Cassandra and Pedro were amazing poolside getting guests involved in activities. Water and beach volleyball were great!
Avoid Iberostar Club--not worth it.
I love Iberostar Paraiso Linda, Maya, and Joia. I enjoy my time there so much that I joined their club. Unless you have an extra $35000, don't do it. My $20.000 payment is only for lower level resorts called "del Mar." The del Mar level of resorts do not provide the amenities I desire. The Iberostar Paraiso Linda, Maya, and Joia are worth every penny. I am going back. I won't upgrade my membership.

Our happy place!
Joia Paraiso is the best place! We just got back from our 4th visit and all I can say is that it feels like going home. The staff are exceptional. They always greet us with open arms and nothing but a desire to make sure every need is met. Huge shout outs to Benjamin, our all time favorite butler! As well as Gabriel, Ana and Gustavo from the butler staff. I wish we could remember everyone’s names but all the staff in buildings 70 and 71 are just exceptional! We also just adore Lenin who has been our pool side server several times. Can’t forget Jonathon and Daniel from the lobby bar and Rhapsody Bar. We also adored Emilio and Jonathon from the French and Mexican restaurants. Honestly, this place is gorgeous. Hands down, our favorite spot! From the moment you arrive till the minute you leave, every part of our experience has been phenomenal.

An amazing resort experience!
This resort is amazing! The food was absolutely delicious, and I want to thank everyone who cooked for us and served us our meals. The chefs truly take pride in their work, and every dish we tried was outstanding! Dario and Amy are both exceptional at what they do.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family by everyone. Irene, one of the managers, was so gracious and personable during our interaction. She is truly a beautiful person, inside and out.
The staff throughout the resort were attentive, welcoming, and always ready to make our experience special. At the Mexican restaurant, Eunice was wonderful, and Reyes took great care of us the first night we visited. He was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly.
The pool quickly became our favorite hangout spot, where we enjoyed meeting new people and being pampered by Flora, Ladis, Lenin, and so many others whose names I wish I could remember. My apologies to those I’ve forgotten! Please know that you all helped make our stay so memorable.
I would absolutely return to this resort! The delicious food, talented chefs, wonderful managers, and attentive staff made our experience truly special. It’s the people who make a place feel like home, and this resort certainly did that for us. Thank you all for making our stay so amazing!
