- Hacienda Real del Caribe

This beautiful hotel is located just steps from the world famous Fifth Avenue of Playa del Carmen, the city's nightlife centre on 12th street, and the beaches with turquoise waters and magnificent white sand Riviera Maya on the Mexican Caribbean. This hotel was inspired by a great Mexican hacienda and guests find relaxation and unique elegance in each of its areas. Guests are welcomed in the lobby with 24-hour reception and facilities include air conditioning, conference facilities, Internet access, room service and a garage. Guests can enjoy a snack in the café or a drink in the bar.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Let me first start off and tell you that the reception staff and maids are absolutely lovely really helpful my issue is not them at all. I'm going to write this review completely honest because I don't want another person to go in blind like I did. If you like sleep and you like quiet do not stay at this hotel. First of all when we arrived at hacienda del Caribe after an 11 hour flight we were told we were being moved to their sister hotel which is a bit of a walk with a disabled child our daughter and four suitcases anyway we were tired and happily agreed. The hotel is the most noisiest hotel I have ever been in and we have travelled the world. Not street noise that I can understand as it's the town no it is people inside the hotel because the windows are sheet thin and the doors have huge gaps the security do not care. I took videos of the noise.i complained to the hotel who moved us up a floor however we were without a room entirely from 11am until 4pm my disabled son needs a quiet room and this is unacceptable. The noise was just as bad I took more videos of a man trying to kick our door down I rang reception for security no answer my husband ran out to restrain him as he was biting guests and he strangled the receptionist armed police turned up then security I did not feel safe after this and I told them this. It was packed with people who were like wild animals screaming all hours day and night not once told to be quiet? It ruined the holiday if I'm honest but you get what you pay for.oh might I add aswell I had earplugs in!
Pros Pools nice but could do with a scrub The staff especially the maids are just lovely Local to everything really If you want to party definitely your hotel
Cons Noisy like extremely noisy Attracts the wrong kind of people noisy, rude obnoxious The large windows to the room are extremely unsafe can easily be broken into The beds are like concrete The cafe next door is overpriced for the food you get but that's all of plays del Carmen horrible food
Fantastic hotel located close to all the amenities restaurant and beach and 5th AVE all within few hundred MTRS .rooms are spotless and well furnished and the staff are so helpful and friendly nice little indoor pool and great food in cafe bar underneath
Stayed here a few years ago and decided to stay again but regretted it.
The rooms are clean and spacious. It’s a pretty hotel. That’s about where the good stuff ends.
It’s incredibly loud. This is not the fault of the hotel. There are so many new bars/clubs that have music pumping from 10pm to 3am. Even with earplugs, it’s still loud.
You are given two towels, no hand towel and no bath mat. This means you step out onto wet tiles. Not very safe. When you need to dry your hands, you will need to use one of the towels for your body.
They provide you with two small bottles of water for your stay which are not replenished.
The staff are hit and miss. Some are wonderful and friendly while some care more about playing on their phones and not being helpful.
The first room I stayed in had a leak in the bathroom, coming from the ceiling so I needed to change rooms. The staff member on reception did give me another room but was not very friendly or helpful.
There are far better options for your stay.
This place is done in the colonial style Mexican design and is so cute! It far exceeded my expectations as far as value, amenities and service. The location is ideal as it's steps from the Quinta Avenida shopping street and only about 1 1/2 blocks from a beautiful stretch of beach! Very close to the ADO bus station and Cozumel Ferry Terminal. Can't wait to stay here again!
Nice character hotel with courtyard overlooking beautiful good pool and gardens. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Clean spacious rooms with mini fridge and coffee maker. Friendly staff. In the evening, music can be heard from local venues. Was nice and we didn't have any trouble sleeping.
