Jannah Place Dubai Marina

This is the worst experience we've ever had. I've been staying at this hotel for three months. Initially, our request was simple: a room with a balcony. Of course, we couldn't get one because we're not from the same nationality as the reception manager, and naturally, most people get rooms with balconies They are of his nationality. Secondly, when we were moved after more than two and a half months and many problems, because he was giving all the rooms with balconies only to people of his nationality, and in the end he gave us a room with a balcony, the exact opposite of what we had requested It's a very annoying place because of the constantly moving loading trucks and many other annoying things The room smelled terrible, the curtains were dirty, and to say the least, the room was unfit for human habitation When we spoke to the reception manager, he said it was our fault because we wanted to move from one room to another. Is he going to punish us or what Who works for whom? This is in addition to the delivery people who arrive at odd hours with items that aren't ours, the receptionists who don't seem to care whether someone is going to the right room or not, and the receptionists who know absolutely nothing about the job You won't get any useful information from it, nor will it solve any problem If I continue writing, many pages won't be enough to explain my suffering in this place. And of course, I know the general manager will comment on my post and say, "We apologize, give us another chance, and we will contact you Personally, all of this has been to no avail because he won't contact us or resolve any issues. He only responds when he sees a negative comment, but guest comfort doesn't seem to matter to him. I will post some pictures illustrating the condition of the room we are currently staying in There hasn't even been a fire extinguisher in the room for at least a month.

I am on a longterm stay. Requested from the beginning a studio with balcony away from the mosque or any noisy area of the hotel since I am very sensitive with noise but after 2 months of following up, we still have no positive response.  They always say that rooms with balcony extended. I found out that there had been several rooms with balcony that were checked out in June so why we have not been prooritized since we are already waiting for 2 months? There was only one reception staff who was always helping us out and we thank him for that. He managed to save us a suite with a balcony away from the mosque on a higher floor but we did not get a call the whole day of the exact day we were promised to be moved so I called reception late afternoon to check what is going on. To my surprise, the room was already given to another guest. One receptionist told them that she tried to contact us several times but can't reach us out. I was shocked as i never left the suite the whole day. After speaking to the manager, he promised to move us the next day to a suite. Yes, they called us the next day to move to a suite with a balcony but then we have been given one that is exactly facing the construction and the big mosque - showed that my requirement and preference was not put into consideration. I did not have a choice but to move since i don't want to wait long time again. After moving my stuff, I found out that the balcony door lock is not working, power outlet at the kitchen is also not working plus the very bad room smell which I have reported to be fixed before moving still does not go even after they placed a scent diffuser. The rotten smell was still strong. Only after i requested to remove the carpet that the odd smell became a bit lesser. Curtains were also dirty and dusty. After their mistake of giving away the original room promised to us on a higher floor and in a quiet side, i expected to get a suite that is at least properly checked before even presented to us to compensate their mistake but instead, i got a suite with plenty of maintenance issue. I  called the reception to report the room issues and spoke to the manager on duty but during the canversation, he indirectly made it my fault that the room has several issues. He commented that because i insisted on moving that's why the room was not prepared properly. And that the guest who just checked out was a long stay guest as well. That means no deep cleaning and proper room inspection was done before us. Is this the right way to deal with a guest who is already unhappy and dissatisfied with the recent service?! And coming from a person who claims he is in charge. The balcony door is still not fixed even after reporting it on 3 different days. Let us see if a different engineering staff can fix it permanently this time. Apart from this, our neighbor takes calls at his balcony with a loud voice on late hours on several ocassion which we ignored but we had to report the last one since it was past 12 midnight. Thank you to the night team who promptly assisted us. Reception told us to report if it happens again. Also, on the first 2 weeks in the new room, there are several times that a delivery guy came and rang the bell to deliver items which we never ordered. I ignored the first ones but have reported the last incident to the reception since it  happened at 7am on a sunday when i was asleep and unwell.  Next one is a fire alarm at past 4am which lasted several minutes and was heard inside the suite - on and off. And we had to go down to the reception as we felt it can be a real one, only to know that the fire alarm control room was locked and nobody has the key to reset it. Team stated there is nothing to worry about and that it is a false alarm. I was speechless.

Would also like to share that one female filipino receptionist whenever i followed up on the room availability during the first months of our stay, her response is always negative. I asked her one time about room cleaning schedule change and again, her response started negative. She always smile at the desk but was never a good spirit Found out that she was also the one who gave away the original suite which we were supposed to move to another guest claiming that she had called me several times but i never picked up. Calls never happened as she claims she did since i was in the suite that whole week - never received any. Confirmed by her manager when he checked their call log. No calls to my room were recorded as claimed by her.

I have also asked the housekeeping in charge to help remove the thin curtains from our room and have them washed since it looks and.feels dirty and dusty. I shared thay i have allergies with dust and I kept scratching and sneezing since we moved. He promised to get back the next day if they can remove and wash them but 2 weeks had passed and no return call. I am extremely speechless.

Several concerns have been brought up to the reception which they always said they will share with the management but i have never got a single courtesy call to ensure satisfaction. I have never demanded  for anything such as complimentary suite upgrade or whatever. At least a courtesy call gesture could have been much appreciated - but NOTHING.

Maybe i expected so much from Jannah as i saw they have been awarded the best vacation place - only to get extremely disappointed. With all the frustrating experiences and the feeling that nobody cares, i dont think i will recommend the place.

On a lighter note, the location is superb and night marina view is amazing.
