The fourth summer stay
Our 4th Stay – Outstanding Staff as Always, But Noticing Some Changes This was our fourth stay at Dukes The Palm, and it remains our family's primary choice in Dubai. We know this hotel inside and out, and while the hospitality remains exceptional, we did notice a noticeable shift in standard compared to our previous visits (including our trip last August 2025). The Positives: Unmatched Staff & Great Amenities
- First-Class Staff: The service across the hotel is top-tier. Mr. Chris at the Front Desk was exceptional—assisting us two days prior to arrival, handling check-in, arranging a room upgrade, accompanying us, and quickly resolving issues across departments all the way to check-out.
- Relaxing Location & Facilities: The location remains ideal for families of all ages. The indoor pool, outdoor pool, and private beach are as wonderful and relaxing as ever.
Areas Needing Attention:
- Air Conditioning: In all 3 rooms we booked, the AC remained uncomfortably cold regardless of how we adjusted the controls. Speaking with other guests, several were experiencing the exact same issue.
- Dining Standards (Great British Restaurant): Compared to our previous stays, the BBQ station's variety and quality have dropped. The kids' pasta station was missing, crepes were absent from breakfast, and ice cream was only available on day one—the machine was out of service for the remaining 7 nights.
- Missing Touches & Amenities:
- The welcoming kid's gifts at reception and the welcome amenities (fruit basket/chocolates) in the room are no longer provided.
- The Lounge was closed during our stay.
- The complimentary city and mall shuttle service has been discontinued.
We still sincerely love Dukes The Palm because of our fantastic memories over the years and the wonderfully welcoming staff who make us feel at home. However, we hope management addresses these small details to bring the experience fully back to its former peak luxury standard.
