This was our second stay at the Doubletree by Hilton, JBR and just like the first time, we ended up having a wonderful stay. The accommodating staff, the service, and the food, all top notch. Special mention to Michelle at the reception. Given we had a toddler with us, went out of her way to give us an early check-in and a late check-out. Look forward to staying at the property again.
The staff here is Amazing! From start to finish! Ritah ant the front desk was by far the best host I ever had checking in anywhere!! The room was nice n clean and housekeeping was amazing! The grounds were well kept and it’s in a perfect area of the JBR! I can go on n on but this is the perfect spot in the JBR area!
I don't normally write reviews but I wanted to write one to say how amazing Lakhwinder was, incredible service from him.
I am extremely disappointed with the conduct of the security guard deployed at the lobby porch area of DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai – Jumeirah Beach during the early hours of today, at approximately 5:30 a.m.
I had dropped off a guest at the hotel lobby when I noticed that a vehicle was parked next to the valet desk, completely blocking the driveway. As it was early in the morning, I deliberately avoided using my horn out of consideration for other guests who might have been sleeping. I waited for a few moments, expecting someone from the valet or security team to clear the obstruction, but no one took any action.
A security guard was standing near my vehicle, so I politely requested that he have the obstructing vehicle moved. His response was, “Arabic is crazy, you can reverse your car,” which I found both unprofessional and disrespectful. Reversing from the curved porch area was difficult and potentially unsafe, but I had no alternative and managed to reverse my vehicle with great difficulty.
As I exited, the same security guard was standing near the exit. I lowered my window, greeted him, and asked if he was the security officer on duty. He confirmed that he was. I then politely requested that he at least advise the valet team to park vehicles properly so that the driveway remains accessible for other guests.
He replied that the guest had just arrived to check in. I explained that regardless of the situation, no vehicle should be allowed to block the driveway. He then stated that the family inside the vehicle was sleeping. I informed him that I am the Security Manager of a five-star hotel and showed him my SIRA card to emphasize the importance of maintaining safety and proper traffic flow.
He then claimed that the Duty Manager had authorized the vehicle to remain there. I asked whether the Duty Manager had also authorized blocking the driveway and forcing other drivers into a potentially dangerous reversing maneuver. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, he responded, “Then why are you driving if you don’t know how?”
I asked for his name, but instead of introducing himself courteously, he rudely displayed his SIRA card for me to read. His attitude throughout the interaction was discourteous, argumentative, and lacked the professionalism expected from a security officer. I told him that he needed to speak to guests with proper manners, to which he replied with the same comment directed back at me.
I intended to speak with the Night Manager or Duty Manager regarding this incident, but due to my own time constraints, I was unable to do so and had to leave.
I respectfully request that the hotel’s Security Manager and senior management investigate this incident by reviewing the CCTV footage from approximately 5:30 a.m. today at the lobby porch. I also request that appropriate action be taken and that the security team receive further training on guest relations, communication, professionalism, and traffic management. No guest or visitor should be subjected to such rude and dismissive behavior, especially when raising a legitimate safety concern.
As a fellow hospitality security professional, I understand the challenges of the role. However, professionalism, courtesy, and guest safety must always remain the highest priorities.
