Fantastic hotel

Spent 5 nights here and cannot fault the staff, food and hotel enough. Hussain on reception, Sandy and Acquilla in Speakeasy and Bicash for his service at breakfast to name a few. Great location and will definitely be back.

From the moment I made my reservation inquiry until the day of our departure, Ms. Rachel consistently demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, dedication, and genuine hospitality. She was incredibly attentive to every detail and always willing to assist with a warm smile. What impressed us most was her ability to multitask efficiently at the Front Office while still making every guest feel valued and important.

Throughout our stay, she went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect. She regularly checked on us, anticipated our needs, and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment of our visit. Worst hotel with the worst management.

I’m writing this review because I have reached a level of disappointment that I rarely experience. I do not usually leave negative reviews, and I generally try to be understanding when issues arise. However, after giving this hotel multiple chances, raising concerns repeatedly, and trying to resolve matters directly with the management: IHSSANE LAGZIR. I feel it is important to share my experience honestly as nothing was resolved.

I booked Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort (The Walk, Dubai) expecting the level of quality, comfort, and service associated with the Sheraton name and a four-star rating. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had.

From the moment we arrived, it became clear that the hotel suffers from serious management and service issues. Throughout our stay, we repeatedly had to request basic amenities such as dental kits, bathrobes, blankets, coffee supplies, and other essentials that should have been readily available in the room. Getting these items was an exhausting process. Calls to guest services often went unanswered for hours, and even when someone answered, many requests were simply ignored or never delivered.

What made this even more frustrating was that housekeeping would clean the room poorly without restocking basic necessities. The coffee corner would be completely empty, supplies would be finished, and yet nothing would be replaced or placed in the beginning even. We stayed for several days, and despite daily room cleaning, many of the items that should have been automatically replenished were left empty unless we repeatedly called and followed up ourselves. Guests should not have to chase staff for basic items that are expected in any hotel, especially one carrying the Sheraton name.

We frequently had to go in person to follow up on requests that should have been handled immediately.

To be fair, many of the employees were respectful and clearly doing their best. My complaint is not directed at them. The problem appears to lie with the management and the overall operation of the hotel. In my experience, this was some of the poorest hotel management I have encountered. Concerns were not handled professionally, complaints were not properly addressed, and the overall attitude from management left guests feeling ignored rather than valued.

The rooms were far from comfortable. The beds were unusually hard, making it difficult to rest properly. What was even more surprising was the apparent lack of attention to guest comfort, with management making decisions that seemed to prioritize convenience over guest satisfaction. We were even told that certain bedding arrangements were unavailable, despite seeing them readily available elsewhere in the hotel.

The facilities are nowhere near what I would expect from a hotel of this category. The reception area is small, crowded, and poorly organized. At several points, it felt as though the hotel was accommodating more guests than it could properly handle. Basic crowd management and guest service standards seemed to be missing altogether.

The hotel was also noticeably lacking in cleanliness in several areas. For a property carrying the Sheraton name, the overall standard of cleanliness was disappointing and below expectations.

The swimming pool was another major frustration. The pool was extremely small. We were also informed that the pool closes at 9:00 PM, yet on multiple occasions guests were asked to leave as early as 7:00 PM without any clear announcement or prior notice. At other times, the pool area was not maintained to an acceptable standard of cleanliness, making the experience even more disappointing. For many guests, the pool is one of the main reasons for choosing a resort-style hotel, so this was particularly frustrating.

The overall recreational facilities are limited, and there is no beach access. For a property marketed under a well-known international brand, the experience falls dramatically short of expectations.

There was even no valet parking.

Perhaps the most frustrating part was that this hotel turned what should have been a relaxing vacation into a stressful experience. Instead of enjoying our stay, we found ourselves constantly chasing basic services, making repeated calls, filing complaints, and waiting for issues to be addressed. No guest paying premium rates should have to spend their vacation doing that.

The dining experience was equally disappointing. The buffet lacked variety, and both breakfast and dinner were limited. There were very few options considering the hotel's rating. Guests paying for half-board deserve significantly better food quality and selection than what was offered here.

What makes this particularly disappointing is that expectations are naturally higher when staying at a Sheraton. Guests choose this brand expecting reliability, comfort, professionalism, and quality service. Unfortunately, this hotel failed in many of those areas.

In my opinion, this property does not deserve its current rating in its present condition. While the staff members deserve credit for their efforts, poor management, inadequate service, disappointing facilities, cleanliness issues, and below-average dining made this stay extremely frustrating.

Great Stay and Friendly Team

We had a wonderful stay at Sheraton The Walk. The front desk team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially Illia and Rachel, who made us feel valued from the moment we arrived.

We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a Club Studio, which we truly appreciated. The room was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a comfortable sitting area, kitchen, washing machine, and a balcony with a beautiful view of Dubai Marina.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we cancelled our other hotel bookings and extended our stay here for the remainder of our two-week trip. That alone speaks to how comfortable and well looked after we felt.

A special mention also to the security team, who were always friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. They would often have the lift ready and be waiting in the lobby when we arrived, which made coming and going effortless and added a personal touch to the experience.

Thank you to the entire team for the warm hospitality and excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dubai.

1 night stay

Had an overseas friend in town so decided on a one night stay to meet him for dinner. We have previously stayed at The Sheraton so it was an easy choice. Its proximity to the bars and restaurants at JBR is perfect.

We were lucky to be offered an upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment which was really appreciated. It worked really well for us.

The apartment had had a refurb and was really nice and very well equipped. Our only negative was that to get hot water in the shower it had to be run for 10 mins. Although living here it is kind of the norm in some places. So this is just a heads up if you’re visiting for the first time and searching for a hot water switch!

All the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming.

We are already booked again in March as we have an event to attend. Might squeeze another visit before then.
