We have recently returned from our first stay at The Ritz-Carlton JBR, having spent 13 nights here as a family with our 15-year-old son, and I can honestly say it exceeded all our expectations. Having become accustomed to the high service levels we have experienced in the UAE over the last few years, we were particularly impressed by the exceptional service throughout this hotel.

The ladies and gentlemen here are what truly make this property so special. From the housekeeping and chefs to the waiting staff, security team and pool attendants, the level of service is consistently outstanding. Everyone was friendly, professional and genuinely seemed to take pride in what they do. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

We stayed in room 640, which was spacious and perfectly suited to our family. The views overlooking the pool and the start of The Palm were amazing, and we loved watching the skydivers appear every morning — very brave people! Our room was always beautifully clean, tidy and well stocked. A special mention to Peter, Vijay Bishwash and Putu, who looked after us so well. The room was also refreshed again during evening turndown, which was a lovely touch.

Breakfast in Caravan was excellent. The buffet was clean, well organised and offered plenty of choice for everyone. We enjoyed freshly poached eggs, omelettes and Eggs Benedict, but my absolute favourite was the homemade granola! The chefs would kindly offer to bring freshly prepared dishes to your table rather than have you wait, although we actually preferred to chat with them while they were cooking. Ravinder assisted us most mornings and was absolutely fantastic.

We booked half board, which also gave us the opportunity to dine around at other properties. At Tomoka, we found the half-board menu a little restrictive, but the food was fresh, the atmosphere lovely and the views incredible.

Splendido was excellent. We enjoyed our usual favourites — carbonara, bolognese and lasagne — and everything was delicious. The crème brûlée was, without a doubt, the best I have ever had!

Blue Jade was potentially our favourite. The Thai curry and Nasi Goreng were incredibly fresh and packed with flavour. The chef even advised that dishes could be prepared off-menu if requested, which was a fantastic touch. Once again, the service was exceptional, particularly from Evey.

We also enjoyed several meals poolside, including burgers, wraps, salads, ice cream and brownies. Portions were generous and everything was very enjoyable.

The pool area was another highlight. The main pool was much larger than we expected, with plenty of loungers available throughout the day. Everything was exceptionally clean and the pool attendants were brilliant. The only name I remember was Kamal, who we particularly enjoyed chatting with, but all the attendants we met were friendly, attentive and always happy to help. Nothing was ever too much trouble. In fact, we discovered another pool on the very day we were leaving — so we clearly still have more of the hotel to explore!

The location is perfect, too, making it an ideal base for enjoying everything Dubai has to offer.

What really stood out to us, though, was the people. There is a genuine sense that the team is proud to work here and proud to be part of the Ritz-Carlton. That shines through in every interaction and makes such a difference to the overall experience.

This was our first visit to The Ritz-Carlton JBR, but it certainly won’t be our last. After 13 nights, we left feeling extremely well looked after and genuinely sad to leave. It is going to be very difficult to find somewhere that can beat the experience we had here.

A truly exceptional hotel, made even more special by its outstanding team. We cannot wait to return!
