I recently stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott Sheikh Zayed Road in September with my girlfriend and my sister. We had booked two double-bed rooms in advance, but upon arrival, the hotel decided to change our reservation to suites without informing us. At first, it seemed like an upgrade — until we realized they had given my girlfriend and me a room with two separate beds!
When we declined the room and asked for the proper one we had reserved, the staff told us we’d need to wait two hours — until 5 PM — to get a suitable room. After the shift changed, the next receptionist completely ignored the issue and refused to give us the room we originally booked. We ended up spending our entire vacation in a twin-bed room, which ruined the experience.
To make matters worse, they charged us for taxes that we had already paid online, and despite showing proof, they refused to accept it.
This was actually my second stay at this hotel — the first time was pleasant, which is why I returned. But after this experience, I can confidently say I’ll never come back and wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of other places in Dubai that treat their guests with the professionalism and respect they deserve.
Everything is decent and nice but the hotel elevator is terrible. I have to wait more than 30 minutes to get to my floor. There's empty elevator but we cannot take it and every guest was stuffed in another crowed one. Sometime it's not working completely and keep us waiting Hotel should take this issue seriously because all the nice mood was destroyed the stupid elevator
Room size was good, but my experience was not at all pleasant. I stayed there for 3 days. We were a group of 24 people including kids out of which 20 of us were jain. For 2 days they could hardly provide us with any jain food during breakfast even after requesting them. If asked for more, they directed us to salads and fruits. Third day they did provide us jain but it was very bad to taste. Lift was also an issue. Breakfast was at 43rd floor. It took us more than an hour just to go for breakfast and come back in lift. It was irritating. For going to our room we used to climb stairs always. Overall not worth going if you are Jain and on a schedule for excursions, as all your time is totally wasted waiting for the lift.
My name is Harshdeep Marwah, am a Marriott member. My recent experience at front desk of Residence Inn by Marriott, Sheikh Zayed Road has been extremely bitter and dis-heartening. One of the front desk manager is extremely rude and insensitive to complaints. His name Mohamed Ali ABD Eldeem. My uncle, who is 80 years old complained to him about the weight time of the escalator, and this man in stead of giving him a patient hearing rudely told him that he cant do anything and bear with it. He also told my uncle that he can complain anywhere he wants. Hearing all this, I tried to communicate with him politely, but Ali was hell bent upon to prove his point and started shouting. I have written the complain here, but now I will expose him in all social media, so that he doesnt behave like this with anyone else. Am extremely upset and also very dejected to witness this road side ill-behavior in a Marriott property. Such people miss-represent a great brand like Marriott. If Marriott doesnt take action and update me, I assure you that i will do everything possible teach this man a lesson. Thanks, Harsh Marwah Marriott ID - 756342616
Very disappointing experience at Residence Inn by Marriott Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai.
I stayed here for 7 days in a Suite Room category expecting decent hospitality because it’s a Marriott property, but the experience was completely opposite.
The front desk staff was extremely rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. Nobody even picks up the phone properly, and basic guest handling standards were missing throughout the stay. The F&B team attitude was also very poor and unwelcoming.
What was most disappointing was the way Indian guests are treated. The hotel promotes itself as being welcoming and “loved by Indians,” but honestly I felt the maximum disrespect was towards Indian guests only.
For the amount charged and the Marriott branding, the service quality was unacceptable. Hospitality should be about respect and professionalism, which was seriously lacking here.
Would not recommend this property, especially to Indian families or business travellers expecting basic courtesy and service standards.
