From the moment we arrived, the experience at this hotel was great. What stood out the most was the incredible staff. Every single person we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely happy to help.

The team at Al-Dana went out of their way to ensure that every request was handled quickly and with a smile. Whether it was helping with special tea requests or bananas, assisting with the kids, or simply checking in to see if we needed anything, the staff were always attentive and thoughtful. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble for them. It’s rare to come across a team that is not only professional but also so cheerful and kind. Their hospitality added so much to our stay and made the whole experience feel special. they even made my kids birthday special. Their positive energy made the entire atmosphere feel welcoming and relaxed. special thanks to- Philip, Sarah, Loise, Ever, Ashley, Astuti, Ali, Osman, Oshen, Malintha and Sumila.

A Truly Heartwarming Hotel Experience..

We had a truly wonderful experience at the hotel, mainly because of the exceptional staff who made our stay so memorable. Every member of the team was extremely polite, attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. They always went the extra mile to help us with a smile, and their hospitality came straight from the heart. Their dedication and kindness made us feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued throughout our stay.

We would also like to highly appreciate Chef Chef Don Keshan  kumbalathara arachchi for the delicious food and the care and passion he puts into every meal. The quality, taste, and presentation of the dishes were outstanding, and it was clear that everything was prepared with great attention and heart.

A heartfelt thank you as well to Keshan Kumbalathara Arachchi, whose kindness, dedication, and excellent service made a lasting impression on us. He was incredibly attentive and always made sure everything was perfect.

Special thanks also to the wonderful restaurant staff, Malintha Geethanjana and Shan, for their friendly service, professionalism, and warm hospitality. They always served us with genuine smiles and made every dining experience enjoyable and comfortable.

A special thank you to Sujan, the hotel assistant, for being so helpful, professional, and approachable at all times. His positive attitude and willingness to assist with anything we needed were truly appreciated

Overall, the entire team exceeded our expectations. Their sincere hospitality, care, and professionalism made our stay truly special, and we will always remember this beautiful experience. Highly recommended!

Worst Check-In Experience – Disrespectful Staff Supported by Arrogant Duty Manager at Millennium Downtown Plaza Dubai

I checked into the Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel Dubai recently and had one of the most disappointing and unprofessional check-in experiences at a supposed 5-star property. The disrespectful behaviour began with the check-in staff themselves, who were rude and unhelpful from the start. Instead of addressing the already slow and chaotic process professionally, their attitude was dismissive and demeaning. What made the situation far worse was that Duty Manager Michael fully supported and enabled this behaviour. He collided with his team in full view of guests, displaying an arrogant and entitled attitude while backing the staff’s poor conduct rather than correcting it. Even more concerning was Michael’s completely dismissive reaction when the possibility of customer feedback or complaints was raised — he made it clear that guest concerns were unimportant and brushed them off entirely. This unprofessional handling from both the front desk team and management left me feeling unwelcome and undervalued right from the moment I arrived at what is marketed as a premium Downtown Dubai hotel. Basic courtesy, accountability, and proper leadership should be the minimum standard, especially at these rates in Dubai’s competitive hospitality market. While the location is convenient, this initial encounter has heavily coloured my entire perception of the stay. I strongly recommend that Millennium Hotels review their front desk training and management standards urgently. I hope other guests do not experience the same treatment.

Three Years of Loyalty, One Conversation Changed Everything

Just like the escalator at Millennium Plaza Downtown goes up and down, unfortunately, the service has only gone down.

What disappointed me the most wasn’t just the decline in service—it was the way I was treated by the duty manager.

For the past three years, I’ve chosen to stay at this hotel and have always spoken positively about it. I expected that loyalty to be acknowledged, or at the very least, that my concerns would be heard with respect.

Instead, I was spoken to in a dismissive and rude manner. I was told, “If you want to stay, stay. Otherwise, you can leave.” Hearing those words from someone representing a five-star hotel was deeply disappointing and humiliating.

As a guest who came to Dubai for work, I found myself in the uncomfortable position of deciding whether to stay and accept being treated that way or leave altogether. No loyal guest should be made to feel unwelcome for raising a genuine concern.

A luxury hotel is defined not only by its facilities but by the professionalism, empathy, and respect shown by its leadership. I sincerely hope the management reflects on how guests are treated and restores the standards that once made this hotel a place I happily returned to.

I share this review not out of anger, but in the hope that no other guest has a similar experience.
