Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Im staying in room 2903 which the room does not have any amenities enough for two people. We requested them which took more than 4 to 5 hours to be delivered and we had to beg them calling multiple times. The service is non existant and even a one star property will have the basic needs for a guest.The images in the website does not match for the room that we got aswell which is very disappointing. I would think twice before selecting this hotel as there are no staff and no service for the guest at all.
I rarely leave negative reviews. In fact, I am usually the type of guest who goes out of my way to recognize excellent customer service and give businesses the benefit of the doubt, even when they have mixed or poor reviews. However, my experience at Emirates Grand Hotel Downtown Dubai was by far the worst hotel experience I have had.
We checked out less than 10 minutes after entering the room.
From the moment we arrived, the building felt dated, overcrowded, and poorly maintained. Still, we tried to keep an open mind because first impressions can sometimes be misleading. Unfortunately, things only got worse. The lobby was noisy and lacked the relaxing atmosphere we were looking for during our weekend staycation. The check-in process took nearly 30 minutes, including the waiting time. The receptionist who assisted us was not particularly welcoming, and throughout the process, she repeatedly had to check with her manager or colleagues regarding room availability and readiness.
What made this even more disappointing was that prior to arrival, we received WhatsApp messages promoting a seamless online check-in experience, complete with a room number and access code. It gave the impression of a modern, efficient, and premium hotel experience. In reality, it turned out to be nothing more than a standard check-in process that did not match the image presented in their advertisements.
The biggest disappointment came when we reached our floor and entered the room. The hallways and surrounding areas looked neglected and unclean. The room itself was completely different from what was advertised. We booked a one-bedroom suite with a city view, expecting a Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa view as shown in the listing. Instead, we were given a worn-out room facing the back side of the building, with minimal furnishings, outdated fixtures, a filthy environment, and a damaged washroom.
To make matters worse, a housekeeping staff member arrived and informed us that the beds would need to be joined together because we had been given two separate single beds. When I asked if this was actually the one-bedroom suite we had booked, the staff member honestly admitted that they did not have such a room available. I appreciated the honesty, but by that point it was clear that the room did not match what we had paid for. Rather than argue or spend our weekend filing complaints, we decided to leave immediately and book another hotel. This doubled our expenses, but we preferred that over spending our weekend in a place that felt dirty, misleading, and uncomfortable. I understand that online reviews can sometimes be exaggerated, and I usually prefer to judge a place for myself. However, in this case, many of the negative reviews seem to accurately reflect the reality of the property.
I am particularly careful when it comes to cleanliness, especially bathrooms and beds, but I always try to give establishments a fair chance. Unfortunately, this hotel failed to meet even basic expectations. The condition of the property, the mismatch between the advertised rooms and the actual room provided, and the overall guest experience were extremely disappointing.
I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and invests in improving the property. Guests deserve an experience that reflects what is being advertised, especially considering the location, tourism fees, and overall cost of staying in Downtown Dubai.
I booked this hotel for one month because the location, and I expected a decent standard for the price. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had.
The room was in an extremely poor and dirty condition—without exaggeration, it was one of the dirtiest rooms I have ever seen in my life. I couldn't stay there and decided to check out on the very same day.
There are many other hotels in the same area at a similar price that are far cleaner and offer much better value. Choosing this hotel was a complete waste of my time and money.
At the time of checkout, the staff gave me a checkout document and clearly told me that I would receive a full refund since I was leaving immediately due to the unacceptable condition of the room. However, they have now refused to honor that promise and have charged me for the entire 30-night booking.
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. The poor cleanliness, misleading assurances about the refund, and lack of professionalism made this a very disappointing experience. I strongly suggest looking at the many better options available nearby instead of staying here.
This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Staying here felt more like sleeping in a dirty train station than in a hotel.
The staff were unfriendly, unprofessional, and completely unwilling to help. They take no responsibility for anything. If the parking is full, they simply tell you it’s your problem. The parking itself is located on the 7th and 8th floors and can only be reached through an extremely narrow ramp that is stressful and difficult to drive through.
The hotel is filthy. The lobby, hallways, and rooms are dirty and poorly maintained. My room was covered in dust, hair, and trash, making it obvious that it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The plumbing was also in terrible condition—the bathroom leaked onto the floor every time it was used. On top of that, the water was almost always scalding hot, making it impossible to take a comfortable shower.
The breakfast experience was embarrassing. Breakfast was included in my reservation, but the hotel never added it to their system. Every single morning, while I was eating, staff would interrupt me and tell me I wasn’t entitled to breakfast. Instead of fixing their mistake once, they made me prove it every day.
The atmosphere in the hotel was also very disturbing. There were many unregistered visitors and suspicious women walking around the hotel late at night, making the place feel unsafe and poorly managed.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. There are countless better hotels for the same price. Save yourself the frustration and stay somewhere else.
Very disappointing experience. I booked and paid extra online for a one-bedroom room. When I arrived, I was informed by the reception that the room type I had reserved was not available, and I was given a standard room instead. I was not offered compensation, a refund for the price difference, or to cancel by myself that is not refundable
In addition, I found the room and some of the corridors to be unclean during my stay, and I have attached photos that reflect what I experienced. I asked 5 times in a day for house keeping and no one come during my 5 days stay The pillows are dirty
Based on my experience, the service did not meet my expectations, especially considering I paid for a higher room category. I hope the hotel improves its booking management and housekeeping to avoid similar situations for future guests.
