The resort is a long way from anything, but that was the idea. Checkin was good, as was the room at the start. Bath in bathroom but no bath items, provided on request after a long weight…but did arrive. Buffet in Bait Al Hanine has a good selection but the serving of it is not thought out by the culinary staff, no knives to cut meat etc. When asked they didn’t understand the need. The service staff are good. The whole resort has pitfalls which are unlit at night where it is easy to break a leg. These look like to have been water features but are now dry. Outside areas in the Dubai temperature are not cooled by any fans or any method as such the concrete has been soaking up heat all day to release at night. Breakfast is Bait Al Hanine again buffet is good. Pool bar panache has some of the best staff in the hotel quick and friendly. Not sure a burger is traditional Arabic fair as listed in the promotional material but it was good. Dune buggy driving was expensive but worth it. Lots of fun as it was a very small group of 3 vehicles two driven by guests. Terra Secca was meant to be the upscale real where booking was required. Turned out it was like a ’cheap’ pizza restaurant buffet. The Al Mesayan was overpriced so back to the. Bait al Hanine for the same food but in buffet form. AC in the room is not great set it was 22 and on high power nothing changes. However the worst thing I have experienced is…I had put the ‘Privacy Please’ sign in my door. I received a call on my personal cellphone asking if I wanted the turndown service as I had the Privacy please sign outside the door. This was from the hotel reception. Why would anyone call me from the hotel when I had requested privacy and they knew it. I found this totally unbelievable from a 1 star hotel let alone a 5 star resort. In general some of the staff are great others on the rooms are ok but in general the health and safety of the whole resort needs a rethink.
Another fabulous return trip to Al Wathba! We’ve been many times to our favourite hotel in the UAE and this time didn’t disappoint! As usual the entire staff can’t do enough for you, everyone is so friendly and accommodating with a personal service. For us this place is magical as we’ve been coming since the children were born for over 6 years and we keep coming back! Special thanks to Sagnik at the pool bar keeping us refreshed, so calm under pressure - I think he must have made 600+ drinks in one single day! He is amazing!! JJ at dinner looking after us! I can’t remember everyone’s names but the ladies in the kids club thank you, to the check in team, the kitchen / chefs (compliments on the amazing food) the lovely lifeguards and senior management we can’t wait to return again very soon! With love Erica, Anton, Sandro & Savannah
Amazing stay, great facilities (spa, pool, gym). Excellent food at both restaurants we tried. We did not try all the activities (horse-riding, archery etc) but did visit the stables and it was great. We will be back to enjoy it more.
Special thanks to Abanoub from front desk and Nicol from kids club!
We chose Al Wathba to celebrate our civil marriage, and it couldn’t have been a better decision. From the moment we arrived, every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome and looked after. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and full of character, but what truly makes it exceptional is the people.
A very special thank you goes to Josh and Kinga, who went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely incredible. Their warmth, kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel truly celebrated, and they turned an already special occasion into one we’ll never forget. They are a real credit to Al Wathba.
The level of hospitality throughout the resort is outstanding. Every interaction was warm, friendly, and sincere, and you can tell the team takes great pride in creating memorable experiences for their guests.
Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to learn everyone’s name, but we’d also like to thank Neha, Sandra, Mandu, Anahaja, Jagath, Badri, Akash, Maitri, Eva, Jaijith, Dipesh, Thanish, and Chef Abdul. We’re sure we’ve missed others, but every single person we encountered was fantastic.
If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind while experiencing world-class hospitality, we can’t recommend Al Wathba highly enough. We leave with wonderful memories of an incredibly important milestone in our lives, and we’ll definitely be back.
Thank you to the entire Al Wathba team for making our celebration so unforgettable.
We had the most incredible stay at Marriott Al Wathba Desert Resort, and without question it has become our new favourite hotel in the UAE. We have always considered Ritz Carlton Al Wadi Desert to be our number one, but after this stay, Al Wathba has taken the top spot.
The property itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings, exceptional facilities, and an atmosphere that makes it impossible not to relax. We booked the all inclusive package, and it offers outstanding value for money. The food throughout our stay was excellent, from the fantastic breakfast buffet to the superb à la carte dinner options across both restaurants. Every meal exceeded our expectations.
What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the people.
A huge thank you to JJ from the F&B team, who is an absolute superstar. He consistently went above and beyond to look after us, especially our young daughter, making every meal a pleasure. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care are exactly what great hospitality is all about.
A special mention also to Nicole, one of the pool attendants. She was always the first smiling face we saw each morning, bringing such incredible energy and positivity to start the day. She is a genuinely lovely person and a real credit to the hotel.
Finally, thank you to Kinga at the front desk. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend for an extra night, and she made the entire process seamless. She was welcoming, professional, and so kind to our daughter, who has now proudly been appointed the hotel’s unofficial “Director of Fish” in the lobby!
Every member of the team made us feel genuinely valued, and that level of service is what transforms a great hotel into an unforgettable experience.
We left already planning our next visit. Marriott Al Wathba has officially become our favourite hotel in the UAE, and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
