A Birthday Staycation to Remember at Al Wathba
I chose Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa for my birthday staycation, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate. From the beautiful property to the exceptional service, everything about the experience made my birthday feel extra special.
What stood out to me most was how thoughtful and considerate the team was. You could genuinely feel that they were mindful of their guests and wanted them to feel appreciated. The little touches made such a big difference, from receiving a lovely thank-you message for staying with them on the tiramisu to the French toast with “Thank you for staying with us” was such a sweet surprise and honestly made me smile. It was such a simple gesture, but it showed so much care and attention to detail.
During my stay, I ate at Terra Secca twice, had food from the pool area, and also enjoyed breakfast at the resort. I have to say, the food was absolutely amazing across the board. Everything I tried was delicious, beautifully presented, and served in generous portions.
This was my first time visiting Al Wathba, but it definitely won’t be my last. It’s one of those places that is worth visiting more than once because there is so much to enjoy, and the overall experience was incredibly positive. I genuinely cannot wait to go back again.
If I’m looking for a staycation in Abu Dhabi in the future, Al Wathba will definitely be my go-to. I’m not sure whether it was the beautiful property, the amazing people, or simply the combination of both, but they truly made my birthday so memorable. The hospitality, thoughtfulness, food, and attention to detail were exceptional. It was such a lovely, peaceful, and special stay, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury getaway where you genuinely feel cared for.

Perfect Desert Getaway!
A beautiful resort nestled in the middle of the desert. Each room is unique and meets various needs. Our room was very clean and all amenities were provided, anything missing they were quick to provide. The gym is fully equipped and open late. Sitting on the patio at night and watching the stars quietly was an extra bonus. Definitely a great value for the money. The service was impeccable from our arrival to our departure. Complements to chef Lorenza and all the staff especially Khin and Eva.

4 hours ago New We just returned from a weekend at the resort. Everything about the weekend exceeded our expectations. Every staff member, every drink, every meal was excellent. The resort and the rooms are just lovely, relaxing and peaceful. The restaurants provide a superb range of home made foods. We met the wonderful Italian chef and enjoyed everything we were served, she even made her own bread and pastries for the breakfast. The staff were just incredible, serving with pride and eager to please. So many wonderful people it’s impossible to mention them all but they are truly exceptional. We will definitely return

Our new favourite hotel
We had the most incredible stay at Marriott Al Wathba Desert Resort, and without question it has become our new favourite hotel in the UAE. We have always considered Ritz Carlton Al Wadi Desert to be our number one, but after this stay, Al Wathba has taken the top spot.
The property itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings, exceptional facilities, and an atmosphere that makes it impossible not to relax. We booked the all inclusive package, and it offers outstanding value for money. The food throughout our stay was excellent, from the fantastic breakfast buffet to the superb à la carte dinner options across both restaurants. Every meal exceeded our expectations.
What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the people.
A huge thank you to JJ from the F&B team, who is an absolute superstar. He consistently went above and beyond to look after us, especially our young daughter, making every meal a pleasure. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care are exactly what great hospitality is all about.
A special mention also to Nicole, one of the pool attendants. She was always the first smiling face we saw each morning, bringing such incredible energy and positivity to start the day. She is a genuinely lovely person and a real credit to the hotel.
Finally, thank you to Kinga at the front desk. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend for an extra night, and she made the entire process seamless. She was welcoming, professional, and so kind to our daughter, who has now proudly been appointed the hotel’s unofficial “Director of Fish” in the lobby!
Every member of the team made us feel genuinely valued, and that level of service is what transforms a great hotel into an unforgettable experience.
We left already planning our next visit. Marriott Al Wathba has officially become our favourite hotel in the UAE, and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
