The Isola Di Cocco translates as the Island of Coconuts. And sure enough, the resort is covered with coconut trees. It gives a wonderfully green, leafy quality and ensures that nature never feels at arm's length when you're exploring Kerala. The long fronds also give plenty of dappled shade too. The Isola Di Cocco is wonderfully placed at the heart of the resort. Encircled on one side by the Poovar River, and beyond, the Arabian Sea – the hotel is very much in tune with the natural habitat. So staying here is a tranquil and restful experience.

Unless you knew it was here, the Isola Di Cocco could come as something of a surprise. But here, amid the lush vegetation, encircled by water, there's another surprise – the hotel's private beach! Reachable via a 5-minute boat ride, it's the perfect place for an afternoon siesta, the gentle sounds of the water lulling you into a peaceful sleep.
Then back to the hotel – and a lap or two around the wonderful outdoor swimming pool will refresh you in time for dinner. There are three wonderful restaurants at the Isola Di Cocco, as well as a pool bar. Another feature of the Isola Di Cocco Hotel is its Ayurveda Centre. Ayurveda is an Indian therapy – whether for relaxation or the treatment of aches and pains - that can help anyone to relax and unwind. Yoga sessions are also available to really free up your mind and body, and there's also an excellent health and fitness centre too.
Whether you spend more time working out or relaxing, you'll want a comfortable room to 'come home' to. The Classic Pavilion rooms at the Isola Di Cocco Hotel certainly fit the bill. Set in discrete little clusters, they're wonderfully self-contained. Again it evokes that wonderful sense of being 'at one with nature'.
Carved furniture maintains the rustic feel, while the addition of TV, mini fridge, safe, phone and tea/coffee making facilities ensure that you'll have everything you need right on hand.
Do make good use of the balcony/veranda – surely an al fresco cup of tea is the very best way to start the day in India? Lake view rooms are also available for a supplement.

The Isola Di Cocco which translates to the Island of Coconuts is a unique resort surrounded by coconut groves, residing on the backs of the river Poovar where the tranquil river embraces the Arabian Sea.
The resort is virtually encircled by water and nature; there is a delightful private beach reachable via a 5-minute boat ride as well as lakes, the famous backwaters and the river.

Our stay at iso de cocco in Poovar
We had warm welcome at reception, our room was ready & as per request ground floor. Room was clean with essential required. Staff was helpful & guided us properly. Restaurants is having good staff & good service with smiling face. Morning breakfast excellent. We ask for ala carta for dinner , quantity of food was sufficient according to charges & good test. Location excellent with back water behind hotel. Boating fascilty was there & reasonable price . My recommendation is do not try to go to private boaters & only hire hotel boat. Overall our stay for two days was excellent

So good we'll book every year as an investment in our health
We absolutely loved our stay at Isola Di Cocco - we were there to do the 14 day detox and rejuvenation program which was such a treat for our bodies. We left feeling healthy and rejuvenated and are now committed to doing this program once a year. The Ayurvedic treatments were all very professionally handled and all the staff were particularly lovely. I enjoyed my interactions with Sharlu at reception who was extremely helpful.
Relaxing stay at the end of tour
Our 3 night stay was the last part of an organised tour. The relative isolation and difficult access road didn't trouble us as we didn't try to explore the locality, we were content to walk along the beach accessed by boat from the bottom of the garden. NB. it's 100 rupees per person each way to a beach where it is not posible to swim due to dangerous currents, we ducked around the rope to walk along the shore. We stayed in herirage bungalow number 20 which was quiet and had reasonable wifi reception. We enjoyed the outdoor bathroom and being able to simultaneously shower, sunbathe and birdwatch was a novel experience. The included massage was brisk, no modesty preserved but copious warm oil did at least moiturise the skin. The paid aromatherapy experience at the spa was more to my liking. The hotel is characterful, set in lovely gardens and has attentive sraff. Some areas are a little tired but clean, with good food and a nice pool, we left feeling relaxed but might have preferred a stay at Kovalam beach for more options to explore and swim. If you looking for quiet, gardens, and bird life this would suit, most guests were older though this wasn't reflected in accessibility with steps into the rooms and resraurant areas.
What a Celebration: 60 years of togetherness by a group of 23 Class mates in CET F4 Mech 70 at Isola Di Cocco, Poovar
We; 23 classmates and 18 of our spouses (total 41) from the College of Engineering, Trivanrum, Mechanical Branch, 1970 batch; celebrated our Diamond Jubilee of togetherness at Isola Di Cocco Resort, Poovar, for 2 days from 4th to 6th February 2026 and it was a resounding success! 🎉Participants, held very senior positions, came from different parts of the country and abroad. The location, rooms , cleanliness, ambience, restaurant food, value for money, noise levels etc; were all top-notch. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, of course rates also moderate . Vast area, sea view and it's heritage style constructions are different from some top notch resorts. Their Ayurvedic Wellness Centre viz. ‘’Ayurtheeram’, with in the premises but separated, is an added attraction.
Our only concern was the access roads. While the resort itself is beautiful, the approach roads could be improved. The western Panchayat road is Earthen but relatively straight, while the eastern road is bituminous but has sharp bends and steep inclines. Since another resort has this same approach, traffic block can be expected any time. We understand these roads aren't the resort's responsibility, but we'd love to see them advocate for improvements to attract more guests.

Outstanding Dayout Experience
I had a wonderful day-out at I Sola de Coco Resort with my family. The resort was beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained. We enjoyed the facilities, food, and overall atmosphere. A special thanks to(operation manager )Mr. Vishnu, who took excellent care of me and my family throughout our visit. His hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail made our experience truly memorable. Thank you to the entire team for making our day special. We look forward to visiting again soon!
