As soon as you arrive at the Marari Beach, you feel welcomed, relaxed and right at home. This is a holiday that is just perfect as a 'get away' where you can forget, even for a couple of weeks, the stresses and demands of daily life back home.
The location is ideal if you want everything on hand, but still want a sense of privacy and some choices on surroundings. The site is lush and green, with lots of cute little thatched cottages dotted about. On one day you might want to enjoy the gardens and maybe find a shady spot to enjoy a book. On another, you could choose to spend your time poolside – either taking in a few lengths or simply interspersing a refreshing dip with a chapter or two of a good book. And as another option, how about a few hours enjoying the clean white sandy beach, lined with swaying palm trees, with white crested waves coming in from the distance?
The elegant simplicity of the accommodation at the Marari Beach is well worth a mention. All of the prettily named Garden Villas have their own private terrace and wonderfully unique bathrooms which are partly open to the sky, so you can really be at one with nature. An outdoor shower is a holiday experience that's hard to beat!
The villas are simply furnished and enhanced with fresh local hibiscus flowers picked from the gardens and arranged for your pleasure. In line with their eco-friendly policy the rooms do not have a TV however one can be found in the recreational room if you need it. Garden Pool Villas and Deluxe Pool Villas are also available at a supplement.
As well as an excellent activities programme, the Marari Beach also offers an Ayurveda Treatment Centre plus yoga and meditation to keep you occupied and relaxed. The village walk and butterfly and bird watching activities are also worth doing. And if you're feeling energetic, bikes are available (at a fee) for you to go out exploring.

"A Peaceful Return, This Time with Our Little Ones"
This was our second visit to CGH Earth Marari, and we chose to come back because of the experience we had during our previous stay. What stayed with us from our last visit was the sense of peace and relaxation we felt here. The setting amidst so much greenery, especially the beautiful mango trees, has a very calming and humble charm.
This time, we travelled with our children—an infant and a toddler—and we are so happy we did. Our expectations certainly did not fail us.
We checked in quite late in the evening and were greeted by a very lovely Duty Manager, Ashwini. Despite the late hour, she was full of energy, pleasant, engaging and welcoming. Our first impression itself was excellent.
One of the biggest highlights was watching our son enjoy the property. He could run around freely, experience nature and enjoy the outdoors in a way that is difficult in city life. He loved the pool, but the beach was the biggest surprise for him. He thoroughly enjoyed it and even made a little friend during our stay.
The resort offers many nature-based experiences. While our toddler was still too young to fully understand and participate, the naturalists did their absolute best to keep him engaged. Kudos to Sarath, Vishnu, Anushka and the entire team. Our son definitely kept them busy, but they were patient, warm and wonderful with him.
The restaurant and service were very good. Although they generally do not have a policy of in-room dining, seeing that we were travelling with a toddler and an infant, the team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and even arranged food to be sent to our room when needed. Stephanya was especially helpful and made it clear that we could reach out if we needed anything.
Kavya and Shivakami were always welcoming with their lovely smiles in the restaurant. We also met Shandril on our last day and immediately felt a connect. He was smiling, energetic, proactive and genuinely interested in ensuring we had a great stay.
While I have mentioned only a few names, every single person we interacted with was wonderful. One of the boys at the shack even made a special drink for our toddler, which was such a thoughtful gesture.
The staff are truly the biggest strength of this property. They made us feel cared for throughout our stay.
We came back home with lovely memories, and the biggest proof of how much our son enjoyed the trip is that he has already told us he wants to keep coming back to Marari!

The perfect place
The perfect place! Nice cabins, set in a lush garden. Well kept and clean. Big pool, room for everyone. Very nice restaurant, with good food and good service. Traditional music. Friendly, helpful and interested staff. They provide entertainment like archery. Their beach is OK, but that's it. Not much to do around it.

Pathetic hotel for holidays
Breakfast menu is limited. Fruits/juices are the only things which are good. Would not recommend for family with kids because : a. very lonely place, no one outside after 630pm. B. No Food service at room C. No tv at room D. Food very expensive, taste not good. Very difficult for kids to keep them engage throughout the day...strongly no.
Another gem of CGH Earth
I actually stayed here in Sep 2024, but it took me this long to review due to work and just the usual life. But here it is!
Marari Beach resort was a vibe! The tranquil beach hut style villas set in a vast coconut grove coupled with tradition & culture, a slice of heaven for those who are looking for a beach vacation but different. Lots of green spaces & beautiful beach near a fishing village.
The service here was wonderful, then it's nothing new with CGHEARTH properties. Food, lots of specialities from the coastal region is on the menu. The main restaurant Chakra serves all 3 meals, buffet & ala-carte. The Beach Shack offers drinks, Italian and comfort food.
And if you're hanging around the pool in the afternoon, you can enjoy tea, coffee & snacks from a tea cart.
I also want to share the Onam celebrations we witnessed there.
Onam celebrations have already started, when we arrive here as Onam lasts for ten days and brings out the best of Kerala culture & traditions. We were fortunate enough to see the festivities on the day itself at Marari Beach.
The resort was decorated beautifully throughout. Loved the swings.
Onam marks the homecoming of legendary King Mahabali, so there was a parade for King Mahabali & his court before the traditional Onam Sadhya was served on a banana leaf with more than 12 items!
In the afternoon, the staff took part in fun games and dances. Of course I joined as well. The day ended with a beautiful ottanthullal dance by Sri Kannan.
Guests can enjoy loads of activities at the resort. My only regret is that I didn't stay long enough to experience all of them.

Serene Luxury Escape on Kerala’s Golden Sands
We recently spent two nights at Marari Beach Resort and had a wonderful stay that we would happily recommend. We stayed in a Garden Villa, which was spacious and very comfortable. A detail we particularly loved was that the shower and bath amenities were kept in reusable earthenware jars, which gave everything a rustic, authentic feel and reflected the resort’s thoughtful approach.
We joined the Owl Spotting walk around the resort and were genuinely surprised by how many different species we were able to see with the help of the in‑resort naturalist. It was a fascinating and very memorable experience for nature lovers.
The main pool area is a great place to relax, with plenty of space to unwind, although you do need to be a confident, strong swimmer if you are planning to swim in the sea, as the waves can be quite powerful.
Another highlight was the home‑style cooking demonstration at the unique Interactive Farm Kitchen, where we enjoyed learning about local ingredients and traditional methods. The daily activities board offered plenty to do, from yoga to archery, so there was always something to join in with.
A particularly special touch was when the staff surprised our group by arranging a traditional Indian dress session, where we were able to try on saris. It was such a fun and thoughtful experience.
May is a lovely time to experience Kerala. You can expect warm, tropical weather that is ideal for pool and beach time, with lush green landscapes and vibrant backwaters before the full monsoon rains arrive. It is also just outside the main peak season, so key sights and resorts typically feel a little quieter and more relaxed, which is perfect for a first visit to India. Combined with excellent value, beautiful sunsets and plenty of time to enjoy Ayurveda treatments, spa facilities and gentle sightseeing at a slower pace, May offers a wonderfully soft introduction to “God’s Own Country”.
Overall, Marari Beach Resort combines relaxation, nature and cultural experiences beautifully. We would highly recommend it and are already planning to return for a longer stay next time.
