Welcome to this Beautiful Heritage Hotel in Kochi Come, step into yesteryear, into a world gracefully tucked in the glories of the past, brimming with regal heritage and plush luxury, and as far away from the present as possible!
Forte Kochi shines like a pearl among the hotels in Fort Kochi - one of the oldest cosmopolitan port cities in the world.
A town so strategically placed that many a battle had been fought and many a ship burnt to lay claim to its generous shores.
Fort Kochi has welcomed weary travelers for centuries from Arab and Chinese traders to Jews seeking shelter and new lives. The town has witnessed many a conquest and has been colonised by the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British in succession.
Its tree hemmed streets, sun-kissed shores and tall ancient edifices still bear remnants of past eras. And in one such imposing yet unassuming structure is Forte Kochi. Originally built by the Portuguese, the mansion presents a medley of Portuguese, Dutch and British influences and was converted to a magnificent home in the late 1800s. This ancient structure was once part of the palatial home of an eminent Jew family. Now restored to its past glory, this boutique hotel enchants its visitors with glimpses of life once known and lived, centuries ago.

In my life, I stayed in a lot of hotels and resorts in my life, and Forte Kochi is absolutely the BEST I’ve ever been!!!! Thank you for everything. We’ll surely come back.
We stayed at Forte Kochi with our family and our 1-year-old, and honestly, we had a really nice time here.
We had just planned a simple weekend trip to Kochi. We reached Kochi Railway Station and the hotel chauffeur came to pick us up, which was already a nice start to the trip.
The moment we entered the property, we were welcomed with garlands and aarti in the traditional Kerala style. It was a small thing, but it instantly made us feel special and welcomed. We finished the check-in formalities and went to our room.
And the property itself is beautiful. The architecture, the old well, the mikvah and all the little details around the property really make you feel like you are staying in a piece of Fort Kochi's history. We honestly ended up taking photos at almost every corner because there was always something interesting.
The food was really good too. We tried quite a few Kerala dishes as well as some Western options, and everything we had was delicious.
Since we were travelling with our 1-year-old, one thing we really appreciated was how helpful the staff were with the baby. They even helped us prepare and serve baby food, which might sound like a small thing, but when you're travelling with a little one, these things make a big difference.
We also spent some time in the pool just relaxing, and one of my favourite parts was the early morning heritage walk. It was actually a great way to understand the history of the property and Fort Kochi.
The location is also perfect if you want to explore Fort Kochi. It's right on Princess Street and most of the popular places are quite close by.
Overall, we genuinely enjoyed our stay here. It felt comfortable, relaxed and very personal, and travelling with a baby was surprisingly easy because of how accommodating the team was.
Would definitely recommend Forte Kochi if you're planning a weekend in Kochi, especially if you're travelling with family.
Right where the action is! Forte Kochi is perfectly located on Princess Street - just steps away from everything - the Chinese fishing nets, cafes, galleries and the whole Fort Kochi vibe. The hotel itself is a living, breathing piece of history. Once a part of a palatial Jewish home built in the 1860s, with that iconic lemon yellow facade and gothic stained-glass windows, it's just stunning. That yellow made our day - every corner felt like a photoshoot, we couldn't stop taking pictures! Food was killer and the staff was so courteous and warm. A boutique heritage stay that perfectly blends old-world charm with modern luxury. Loved our stay here - highly recommended!
A little gem of a hotel. Staff were really attentive to us, always remembered us and our room number so we felt special. Rooms were spacious, exceptionally clean and had everything you needed. Room service was brilliant and you were never charged extra for anything you wanted in your room. Location wise it's in the centre of fort kochi so you can walk to the fishings nets, market and various shops within minutes. Food was amazing, we had all our meals there as it was so good. Fish platter is brilliant and you only need to order one for two (we nearly ordered one each!) Breakfast has a huge variety of items and you can order direct from the kitchen waffles, pancakes or french toast - there will be something for everyone, including traditional indian breakfast to try. Pool was a little small, but beautifully cleaned each morning and lovely and cool in the hot sun. Bar staff were excellent and their wine is ok. Everyone in the hotel were brilliant and could not do enough for you, we were leaving at 5am, and the night before we got a call asking if we would like a pack out of fruits/pastries with hot coffee..... which was ready for us at reception.
The best way I've ever been pampered :-) The staff are very sweet and helpful. They make your day more bright with their smiles! Privacy is also respected
