You may have seen enough posts from me & other guests with the @goamarriott location tagged by now. 😄
The sea. The sunsets. The beautiful spaces. The food. But this post is about the heart behind the place, its people. ❤️
This Goa trip, for me, was all about connecting with people. And somewhere along the way, I realised that what I will remember most about my stay at #Marriott isn’t the property, beautiful as it is, but the people who made me feel welcome, remembered my little preferences, stopped for conversations, shared smiles and quietly became part of my Goa story.
Hospitality isn’t a building. It isn’t five stars. It is how people make people feel.
So here’s my post from Marriott that isn’t about Marriott the place.
It’s about Marriott, the people. ❤️
Because long after we leave a beautiful place, it is the warmth of its people that travels home with us.
We had the best time. Our kids were well entertained with all the screen-free options available, swimming, TT, snooker, library! And my husband and I were able to have some kid free time.
The staff, as always were very courteous and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
Wonderful location Lovely atmosphere Capacious clean rooms Perfectly clean Calm and serene
I recently spent three nights at Goa Marriott Resort for a workation and ended up extending my stay by another night. That probably says everything about how much I enjoyed the experience.
This isn’t a brand-new resort, and there are places where you can see some wear and tear. But the property is very well maintained, and for me, that matters far more than simply having a newer building. What keeps bringing me back is the combination of familiarity, service, and an exceptional location right by the sea.
From the moment I confirmed my stay, the experience was seamless. Tamara and Elton made sure everything around my room was taken care of flawlessly, including accommodating my room preference and later making my extension completely hassle-free.
I would also like to give a special mention to Delana, who I seemed to find everywhere during my stay. She was consistently checking in on me, monitoring how my experience was going and making sure things were on track. That kind of quiet, proactive guest engagement makes a real difference. I genuinely appreciated having someone keeping an eye on my overall experience rather than just focusing on individual transactions.
Shailesh at Waterfront deserves a very special mention. He had looked after me exceptionally well during a previous stay, and once again made breakfast a pleasure every morning. He remembered my preferences, including my fresh orange juice, and on one morning had it waiting for me before I even ordered. Those small gestures make a huge difference and are exactly what make a repeat guest feel at home.
A big thank you also to Paras at Azur and Sriram at Concierge for taking good care of me during the stay.
The pool team — Mohan, Sajjan and the third lifeguard whose name unfortunately escapes me — were another highlight. They were consistently proactive about getting me the right sunbed and ensuring I had enough towels, often giving me more than I needed without me having to ask.
There were a few hiccups at the bar during the stay, but what I appreciated was that when I raised them, there were people willing to listen and take corrective action. Things can occasionally go wrong; what matters to me is how the team responds.
And then there is the location.
The proximity to the beach is a killer. Being so close to the sea that you can actually hear the waves from your room is incredibly soothing. One of my most memorable moments this time was simply being by the pool when it started raining, getting into the pool, closing my eyes and listening to the rain and the sound of the sea. The pool team even took care of my phone and glasses while I enjoyed the rain.
These are the moments that make a workation feel like a real reset.
I came here intending to stay three nights. I extended it to four.
That, more than anything else, captures my experience.
Goa has plenty of beautiful and newer resorts, but there is something about this Marriott that keeps pulling me back. It feels familiar, the service feels personal, and the sea is right there.
Thank you to the entire team. I’ll definitely be back.
Excellent testy food, Chef Rajesh must have magic in his hands.
