Exceptional Restaurant Service at Turyaa Kalutara – Outstanding Hospitality from the Restaurant Manager
We visited Turyaa Kalutara this month and would especially like to mention the restaurant manager for his excellent service. He was very attentive, friendly, and welcoming towards the customers, always making sure everyone was comfortable and well looked after. His warm and professional attitude really stood out and made our experience even more pleasant. It was lovely to see such genuine hospitality, and his service truly deserves appreciation.
Great Food, Comfortable Rooms & Exceptional Service
We had a wonderful stay at Turyaa Kalutara. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with a beautiful atmosphere. The food was delicious, and there was a great variety throughout our stay. A special thank you to Chef Thilan for preparing such excellent meals. We would also like to sincerely thank the Front Office team—Wasantha, Umasha, and Movindu—for their warm welcome, professionalism, and outstanding hospitality. They made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly appreciated the excellent service and look forward to visiting again.

Nice place to stay
Nice place. However, the room service was disappointing. Special thanks to Duminda, the Restaurant Manager, who quickly resolved all our issues and provided exceptional, friendly service. He truly made our stay much more enjoyable.
Pleasant stay with one bad experience
From the moment we arrived ( 08-08-26 )until check-out, we had a very pleasant stay. The bell attendant, the staff member who handled our check-in( animator ), the restaurant hostess, and even the waiters were all friendly and professional. The food was delicious, and our room (Room 202) was very clean. The only minor issue was that the hot water temperature could have been a little hotter.
Everything was excellent except for the lady at the buffet action station who prepares hoppers. If you want hoppers, I would honestly recommend buying from outside instead of asking her. She seemed to get irritated whenever guests requested hoppers and spoke to guests in an unfriendly manner. However, we noticed that she was smiling and speaking very politely to the managers and executives.
It is disappointing to see staff having unnecessary conversations in front of guests. That kind of behavior is not appropriate for a star-class hotel. We had hoppers at dinner on our first night, but because of that unpleasant interaction, we didn’t return to the hopper station again—not even for dinner or breakfast when we wanted it. Her attitude completely discouraged us.
She was the only staff member at the action station who behaved this way. The young lady chef making crepes at the breakfast and the other gentlemens working at the action station were all very polite, professional, and genuinely suited to guest service.
Please avoid assigning staff with this kind of attitude to guest facing roles. It’s unfortunate that one unpleasant experience overshadowed what was otherwise a wonderful stay, and that is the only reason I am leaving this negative review.
