Wonderful stay, Beautiful hotel, Warm hospitality.
I had a wonderful 8 night stay. Felt like a second home and everything was made perfect by the very attentive staff at the hotel. The food was delicious, service was excellent and everyone wanted to make us feel comfortable. No request was too much for them and was attended to with enthusiasm. I am writing a glowing review because my experience was truly that.
Once I saw past the ageing carpets in the room, everything else was perfect, the marble bathroom and decor was rich and the toiletries from Spa Ceylon were fabulous. All amenities were replenished plenty and hotel provided so much of bottled water. Room and hotel was very clean and quiet.
The food was delicious and after 7 breakfasts, there was still plenty of variety to keep me still interested (usually I get fed up with hotel breakfast after 3rd day). There was local as well as multiple international cuisines to satisfy any foodie. Chef Nuwan’s cuttlefish and prawns curries were so delicious and Dinushka in main restaurant went out of their way to cater to us.
Horizon Lounge was superb, and Dinesh and his staff were always trying their best to keep us happy. Hats off to them. The view from the Horizon lounge is just breathtaking.
Overall, it was a lovely experience in a beautiful hotel in Colombo, where there was personalised service (not just another guest). Highly recommended.

Wonderful Stay at Shangri-La Colombo..
We visited Shangrila Colombo for 2 nights on our 10th Wedding Anniversary and everything was Exceptional, it is one of the Most Beautiful Hotels in Colombo and we were Amazed at the Beautiful Ocean View Room which was spotless, the Fabulous amenities , the Beautiful pool , and the Quality of Food at both the breakfast and dinner buffets at Central which are Lavish , delicious and the biggest spread you can imagine.. I have to mention very Specially about the Amazing thoughtful staff here , so goes out of their way to make a Guest feel special. A very special Thank you to Himashi at Guest Relations who is Exceptional and handles all her Guests with the utmost care and concern and we were taken such good care of. Also a special mention to Enara in her team who does a brilliant job in making her guests feel comfortable and welcome.
We were delighted and will definitely return again , Great job Shangri-La Colombo!!!
An oasis in a busy city
Perfect hotel. Great staff for both dinner and breakfast and the pool guy needs a special mention - so friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful room and the food was lovely, an oasis as we passed through. I'd definitely return.

Luxury with a view of the Indian Ocean
Shangri-La Colombo is a true five-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable: warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional. Our room was spacious and elegant, with sweeping ocean views and a very comfortable bed.
The dining was a highlight, with a wide choice of restaurants and excellent breakfast spread. The pool and spa were the perfect way to unwind, and the location, right by Galle Face Green, makes it easy to explore the city.
We left relaxed and impressed. Highly recommended for business or leisure!

Best hotel ever
This is the best hotel we have stayed in, and we've stayed in loads over the years. The hotel is immaculate, has beautiful decor, and comfortable lounges/bars where you can relax with a coffee or a cocktail. The pool area is clean and towels are provided. The rooms are huge and quiet. The food at breakfast, lunch and evening is unbelievable. So much choice, perfectly prepared and so much of it. But most of all the staff make this hotel the best. They are all charming, and will bend over backwards to ensure you have everything you could possibly need. They are happy and courteous, and are eager to share their knowledge with you. I have to particularly mention Pasan in the restaurant, who came over to our table to ask if we were happy with our breakfast. He stayed to tell us about the hotel, the restaurant and about Colombo. Such a charming young man.
