Hilton Colombo Residence

One of the best places to stay in Colombo, especially for families! The rooms are absolutely huge—we had more than enough space, and one of the rooms was practically unused. We actually regretted not bringing a couple more friends along because the property could have easily accommodated them!

The view from our room was simply amazing, especially the stunning view of the Lotus Tower. 🌆

A special thank you to the housekeeping team, especially Sithum, for making our anniversary so memorable with the beautiful room decoration. ❤️Also, a big shout-out to Kasun, the Bar Manager, who was absolutely superb. He went above and beyond to help us with breakfast in the morning and also made sure we had some fantastic drinks in the evening. 🍹 Every member of the staff was polite, helpful, warm, and incredibly professional.

As a Hilton Diamond member, I always prefer staying at Hilton properties, and experiences like this are exactly why I continue to choose Hilton over other hotel brands. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay in Colombo! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed at the Hilton Residence Colombo as a family of five for three separate stays (5, 5, and 7 days) over a seven-week trip. It provided the best customer service experience out of the 10 hotels we visited across the country. If you are looking for a base for 3 days or more, here is why we highly recommend it:

⚬ The Room & Hotel: We booked a 3-bedroom suite. It's a bit dated, but spotless and perfectly functional for a long stay. The rooms are large, the bathrooms have excellent water pressure, and having a provided washing machine was a massive plus. Note that the internet was a bit slow (<100mbps) and temperamental.

⚬ Staff & Service: Incredible. Pre-arrival correspondence was the best I’ve experienced. As a Hilton Gold member, I was well recognised with upgrades on all three stays, plus complimentary wine and fruit. Check-in was fast and efficient, skipping the unnecessary chatter so we could just get to our rooms.

⚬ Pool & Gym: The pool is outstanding, especially for families. Both edges have shallow areas running the length of the pool for toddlers. Lounge chairs could be a bit cleaner, but the area is well-kept. The gym is average-sized and gets busy, but has everything you need for strength and cardio.

⚬ Dining & Room Service: The main restaurant gets very busy at breakfast with a somewhat chaotic flow, but the food choice is good (note: they lean toward chicken/beef substitutes rather than actual pork). The price is reasonable at LKR 4800 pp. Room service takes about 40+ mins but the food is good and reasonably priced—a genuine alternative to eating out.

⚬ Location: Very convenient. There are two large grocery stores within 100m (a 5-minute 'lazy' walk). For quick food nearby, skip the KFC (awful and dirty) and head to the Pizza Hut instead (excellent, clean, and features a great children’s playpark out back).

Overall: You don't get the 'bling' of other 4 or 5-star Colombo hotels here, but you get absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay with incredibly friendly and obliging staff. We will be returning!
