In one simple word, it was terrible and of very low quality. Not worth going there anymore. I have no words to describe how low the hotel has gone to earn money. It is pretty shameful for a hotel like Galadari to serve such a poor quality high tea.
I had a high tea in Galadari hotel with my family, and the dishes were very tasty. There were some unique dishes like Egg Baklava and Sausage Cheesecake. But there were some things that disappointed us. When we came to the hotel, we were given a table a little far away from the buffet. My father found a vacant table nearer to the buffet which did not have a sign ‘reserved’, so he asked to change to it if it was possible. The stuff member said it was reserved too, but when we asked for it for a second time, we could move there. Later, we saw that our previous table was not occupied by anyone, so we did not exchange tables with any reservation. This bit of unfriendliness was unpleasant to us, but all other stuff members were helpful. Also, there was some confusion with the name tags for food. For example, the Muhallebi dessert (we understood that it was the one by the taste) did not have any name on the dessert table. As well other desserts were messed up with each other, so it was hard to find the one you wanted by the name, as the dessert could be in a different place far from its name tag. But other than that, we were satisfied both with food and tea, the tea they served on high tea buffet was very good.
Very nice location to have a function. Staff is supper friendly. Specially Mr. Kamal THE person on the job always helpful for your needs. He made the function to a mega event. Till end he and his team were very alert for all the needs of the guests. Supper food combination.
I am attending the Compliance Symposium at the refurbished Galadari. The ambience is great, and the food is delicious. An award-winning lady chef prepared a warm dessert.
Most of all, the service was exemplary. I had the privilege of savouring the excellent service from Mr Priyankara of Banquets Operations.
Keep it up!
I stayed at this hotel for two nights during a weekend trip. The location was excellent, close to restaurants and public transport. The room was clean and comfortable, although a bit small. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was fresh with many options. Overall, a pleasant experience and good value for money. I would stay here again
