Had a lovely evening at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo. The ambience was beautiful, and the view added a special touch to the overall dining experience. The buffet offered a nice variety of dishes, and the desserts were definitely a highlight of the evening!
A special thank you to Chef Isuru, Sathishka, and Heshan for their wonderful hospitality and warm service. All three did a fantastic job in making us feel welcome, with Chef Isuru deserving a special mention for his genuine kindness, friendliness, and attentiveness. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, made even more memorable by the lovely atmosphere and the exceptional hospitality of the team. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!
An Exceptional Family Stay at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo. As a Sri Lankan living in the UK, this was a special family holiday, and the hotel made our time in Colombo even more memorable.
We stayed in two spacious, interconnected rooms with modern, thoughtfully designed interiors, extremely comfortable beds, bathrobes, toiletries including toothbrushes and toothpaste, and beautiful city and partial sea views. The lovely towel decoration and cake display on arrival were such thoughtful touches. The rooms were peaceful, with no noise disturbances, and were cleaned even when we had not requested it.
The absolute highlight was the staff. Each and every member of the team was wonderful, especially those at the breakfast buffet. I genuinely wish I could remember everyone’s names to thank them individually! Anthony at reception was lovely, as was the chef at the live hopper, dosa and roti station. Everyone was consistently kind, helpful, welcoming and smiling. Plates were cleared without us asking, and handwashing bowls were brought to our table.
Travelling with my two year old son was made so much easier by the team’s thoughtfulness. High chairs were available, milk was brought to our room on request, outside food was heated for us, and our food was stored in their freezer when requested. They even arranged two birthday cakes for our son’s second birthday, making the occasion extra special.
We also hosted family members for a dinner buffet. Although indoor seating was unavailable because it was a busy weekend, the team kindly arranged outdoor seating for us.
We experienced a small leak near the air conditioning unit, but the staff responded promptly and fixed it. The location was perfect for exploring Colombo, and free parking was a bonus. Driving up to level P3 of the multistorey car park was a minor inconvenience, but certainly not a complaint given the overall experience.
Unfortunately, we were too busy exploring Colombo to use the swimming pool, so hopefully next time!
Honestly, this hotel elevated our entire holiday. The exceptional hospitality, attention to detail and genuine warmth of the staff made every moment special. It was absolutely worth it, and after this experience, I think I will struggle to go back to budget hotels!
Thank you to the entire Courtyard by Marriott Colombo team for making our family holiday so memorable. We would love to return and highly recommend this hotel to families visiting Colombo.

Huge thanks to Courtyard by Marriott Colombo for providing a fantastic environment for our training. Everything from the setup to the food was handled smoothly. A special shoutout goes to Chamishka, Ishan and Saleeshs for taking care of our group. Their attention to detail, quick service during breaks, and proactive attitude made a huge difference. They ensured the participants were always taken care of without ever disrupting the flow of the session. Thank you for a great experience!
