The Palms is such a popular Sri Lankan resort; it's got that wonderful mix of great location and amenities, and a beautiful beach right on hand. Based near Beruwala, south of the capital Colombo, it's a prime spot. Sightseers will be drawn to Sri Lanka's first recorded Muslim settlement dating back to the 11th century, with its impressive Mosque.
Of course, sun-seekers and relaxers will want to spend as much time as possible on the beach. It's just a short stroll from the hotel out onto the palm-fringed beach. You can try your arm at beach volleyball, take a dip in the clear blue sea, or simply lie back and soak it all up. It's up to you.
With this wonderful location come all the facilities of an exceptional four-star hotel. The air-conditioned twin and double rooms all feature a balcony so that you can really make the most of that sensational view. Each en suite room comes with cable TV, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar (at a fee) and safe.
There's plenty to do in and around Beruwala of course, but the Palms Hotel has plenty to keep you entertained too. There is a fine swimming pool and sports facilities, a gym and Sri Lankan Ayurvedic healing centre. You'll quickly become acquainted with the excellent restaurant; there are also bars and a coffee shop; even a hotel salon.
It's always nice to be able to start your holiday with something for nothing. And holidaymakers at the beautiful Palms Hotel near Beruwala can add a third week to a two week holiday absolutely free on various dates throughout the year. Something to think about isn't it?
Whether you take advantage of a free third week or not, the Palms Hotel certainly justifies a return visit. There is so much to see and do in Beruwala, and plenty of relaxing to be done too.

The Palms is a popular 4-star resort right on the beach near the resort of Beruwala. It is arranged so that all rooms overlook the sea and are only a short stroll through the grounds to the palm fringed beach. Good guest facilities at the hotel include an Ayurvedic centre.
Very nice atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. Specially Disna in the restuarent. Recommended for others.
Staff are very friendly and had good service
We had a wonderful stay at The Palms Hotel! From the moment we checked in, everything went smoothly and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The rooms were spotless, and the entire hotel had such a nice and peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind.
Breakfast in the morning was absolutely enjoyable with a great selection, and what really stood out was the exceptional service. A special thank you to Ashmika from the Food & Beverage team, who kindly checked in on us and made sure everything was perfect. Her friendly and attentive approach truly made our experience even more memorable.
Highly recommend The Palms Hotel for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a relaxing environment. We’ll definitely be back
The service at the palms hotel was second to none and I cannot fault it, from the receptionist, cleaners, kitchen staff, wait staff, reception, Lifeguard who assists with the Pool beds and towels, bar staff, Spa staff fantastic and give you affordable prices. Every single one of them gave service with a smile and are willing to help out for all your needs. The hotel is right on the beach so is in a fantastic location and one thing I recommend is that there is no need to do what I did and pay £400 for a room upgrade for beach view room as practically every single room gives you a beach view room but I had to change rooms twice and only accepted the third room because the first room was half a beach view and the second was quite far back so I do believe they will just give you these rooms for free without any paying upgrade. The hotel definitely needs modernization and for the next 6 months they will be doing this I believe as I left on May 1st and was the last paying customers out. Gym needs updating and needs more equipment within it. Drinks from the bar are very limited for all inclusive and the cocktails are of poor standard, they are drinkable but I've travelled all inclusive across the whole world and this has to be the lowest level as they give you about a selection of 5 cocktails of local spirits that are extremely watered down mixed with sweet cordial. They had 4 different beers on tap but 3 of them were finished and not topped up. All soft drinks were extremely hot and none were stored in the fridge and they had to put ice in all. They don't have a single sugar free option as well so make sure you load up if you go, tap sodas flat so we had to purchase one bottle of Pepsi which cost about £4 which is in Sri Lanka is about an 80% inflated price. When it comes to the buffet the local cuisine was of very good standard, always fresh and flavourful but sometimes there needs to be a bit more of a mix up especially at breakfast which still is heavy focused around Curries. Wait staff also need to monitor parents with their children closer as well within the buffet area. Some of the local Sri Lankan parents who were using the hotel go up to get food within the buffet and don't monitor their children when doing so and their children are running around putting their hands into loads of food completely contaminating certain dishes, at least 5 contaminated at the dessert section due to children just grabbing them and throwing it down their gobs then sticking their hands straight back in. Purchased our own pizza which was expensive and this was also of low standard for the price. You could use the local Pizza Hut and Dominos which you can order with Uber eats or go with a tuk tuk for about 400 rupees. All in all the staff made the holiday and it was good relaxation as it was quiet due to out of season but there are flaws. I do recommend breaking down a 2 week holiday with excursions as we did a 2 day away one.
Samantha at The Palms was excellent. Extremely personable, funny and very attentive to my family! Made for a wonderful experience!!
