A Lovely place and Great service
We just returned from a magical weekend at The Postcard Galle Hotel and are already planning our next trip.The hotel itself is an absolute jewel—a beautifully restored historic building with an elegant, yet cozy, charm.

If you want these - head to postcard galle. I hosted my family here for a retreat and we booked all 10 rooms made this into a personal villa for us.
Chef Amit was flown for us - he is a master craftsman. Amazing food and flavours. Without him the great food part was not possible.
The manager Shivani - she was available 24 x 7 for anything. That is something no other person can match. At 4 AM she was there to see us off for our whale watching tour and serve light break fast.
The hotel - rooms are old colonial style. Comfortable but needs maintenance. If you want modern look this is not for you - if you want old charm look its a great place. The rooms are huge, beds comfortable, with mosquito nets. There are no TV's or phones in the room. That is what makes it a place for just conversations. Staff is attentive. They are always around. There is one person in the kitchen who is always smiling i cant remember his name. The food experience goes up with such small things.
It has been truly a wonderful experience.

Simply Unforgettable
What an absolutely incredible resort. If you’re coming to Galle, please do not stay anywhere else.
Where do I even begin with Postcard Galle? From the moment we arrived, the resort manager, Shivani and staff were waiting at the gates to welcome us (they had asked for our arrival time). Dinner, which we were able to order in advance, was ready on arrival, and we were greeted with the most delicious welcome drink - a kind of tamarind-based drink whose name I sadly can’t remember, but it was amazing.
The rooms were HUGE, incredibly comfortable and super clean, and beautifully decorated. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and Postcard Galle didn’t just meet expectations, it went above and beyond in every way.
They arranged a massage for us, which was genuinely the best massage both my husband and I have ever had (and I am not exaggerating). The thoughtful details throughout our stay truly stood out: the postcards left in the room after each cleaning, pre-dawn breakfast options when needed, them setting up the jacuzzi in our room post our massage and the flexibility to have breakfast no matter when you wake up.
Speaking of breakfast, it was superb!! If you stay at Postcard Galle, you must try their gluten-free ragi pancakes. The rest of the menu during breakfast or dinner also delights - the mutton cutlets and potato curry completely stole our hearts as well.
The warmth of the staff (including Randike (the resident mixologist!), Kevin, Sandharuwan and Chef Sandeep and many others) and Shivani’s wonderful hospitality made us feel truly at home. For the first time ever, while checking out of a hotel/resort, I felt genuinely sad, like we were leaving our home behind.
We will absolutely be back in Galle on our next Sri Lanka trip, just to stay at Postcard Galle again for the warmth, the atmosphere, the views, the comfort, the massage and the wonderful staff (and yes, especially for those pancakes and cutlets!)
Fantastic Service
Lovely stay at the Postcard Galle. The property is quaint, quiet and peaceful. Lovely rooms. The thing, however, that sets it apart from other hotels is the service from the wonderful staff. Just the right amount of attentiveness, not overbearing and always helpful. A special thank you to Shivani the manager at the Postcard Galle. She went out of her way to help us and even arranged to send something we had forgotten in the room to Colombo the next day. Fantastic service and well done to Shivani and her team.

We had the loveliest stay at Postcard Galle! Upon arrival, the staff makes you feel so welcome and the hotel itself is beautiful, a beautiful building nestled in a bay with a gorgeous view of the sunset. It is the perfect distance from the Fort area while maintaining its own bubble of tranquility. Throughout our stay, the staff was so attentive and a special thanks goes to Sandaruwan who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and also shared so many things about Sri Lanka that we hadn’t noticed during our trip around. All in all, I would highly recommend booking this hotel!
