The property surveys an idyllic ocean scene and is the first affordable boutique hotel along this sultry stretch of Galle coastline. Out of hotel's 16 well-appointed suites 13 enjoy stunning views of the beach through floor-to-ceiling glass windows and private furnished balconies. The property also features two hedonistic suites, which come with a host of added conveniences providing the utmost luxury.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This was an amazing trip! There were so many highlights, to start with the accommodation was great and the view was amazing from the rooms, the food served at the hotel restaurant was lip smacking and the price was very low when compared to other restaurants near by. The crab curry served at the hotel was fantastic. The people at the hotel were really generous depicting Sri Lanka culture. To mention few employees at Cantaloupe Ranjit was an AMAZING host, he took care of us and was very attentive to the group and had us laughing always. It was an amazing experience that we as a family would always cherish. This hotel is highly recommended to families who want some personal space and there is no much crowd. The hotel is beautiful and the view from the room are breath taking. Must visit place.
A quaint boutique resort, about 30 mins away from Galle town. Loved the quiet location, very peaceful and serene. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, overlooking the sea. Excellent service, very friendly and helpful. May not be ideal for families who need activities for kids, but great for people who want to just unwind. Had an awesome stay.
We originally booked to watch the test match in Galle, but this was called offf the day before we travelled. We discussed the current situation and decided to go based on the fact there had been only 1 recorded case of the virus on the island and that had been in January. The place is aa little tired and not as big as pictures seem it to be, bt that does not matter one bit. The location is great, right on the beach and the stafff are fantastic. Rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. The food is very good with a reasonable choice for breakfast and evening meal,, we stayed half board as we tend to eat a snack at lunchtime. Around 20 minutes by tuk tuk to the fort and lighthouse in Galle. We had to cut the holiday short by 5 days due to thwe ongoing situation and the last 3 days we were curfewed in the hotel. This was very traumatic, 32 degreee heat, unbroken sunshine, on the beach and they had r-stocked the bar before we went into lockdown. We cant wait to go back :)
We stayed here late January/ February for about 10 days; certainly alot longer than most of the other guests who only seemed to stay for a few days at most. I have to admit to being a little disappointed when we first arrived; it is in need of some TLC etc. BUT the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff soon made up for the initial disappointment.
They are what made our stay special, we did a number of trip (Yala, sea turtles, lagoon trip, galle fort etc) our driver and guide was superb, learnt so much from him about life and culture in Sri Lanka.
One of the bar staff (so sorry, can't remember his name!) even came to the hotel to pick my husband up on his motorcycle and take him to a local festival one evening on his day off!
The beach is to die for, definitely one of my happy places. Goes on for miles and hardly anyone on it. It is a bit of a scramble to get to it, but not too bad. There are a few places in each direction along the beach to get good food and a drink (recommend Jungle Beach bar)
Enjoyed seeing the new 'towel art' daily too!
When all this virus madness is over I really really hope to be able to visit again.
Lovely boutique hotel right in-front of the beach. Room was spacious and unique. It was 2 storey room with the bed on the upper layer.
The food was good. The property needed some maintenance, it looks a bit old. Overall I had an enjoyable stay.
