Friendly staff, great facilities, and close proximity to all that Seychelles Islands has to offer are three great reasons you should stay at Bliss Hotel Praslin.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Our family of five, including three teenage children, recently stayed at the Bliss Hotel on Praslin, Seychelles, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. This boutique hotel is beautifully situated along the stunning Grand Anse beach, making it a perfect spot for swimming in the calm waters—ideal for families with young children. The hotel features two immaculate swimming pools with pool bars, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
However, our experience with the room was less than ideal. We booked a Family Suite with two rooms, located in the garden. The hotel's website describes these rooms as "Elegant & Agreeable Suite Garden Chalet," promising tranquility and a peaceful Creole ambiance. Unfortunately, our suite was less than 10 meters from the road, resulting in constant noise from cars and music throughout the morning and evening. This was far from the restful experience we had hoped for.
Additionally, the bathroom in our suite was in dire need of renovation. The water would leak all over the place, even reaching the bedroom, and the door was rotten. These issues significantly detracted from our otherwise positive experience.
In summary, while the hotel itself is wonderful, the Family Suite we stayed in did not live up to the advertised tranquility. A warning about the suite's proximity to the road and its need for renovation would have been appreciated. Other than that, we had a great time at Bliss Hotel and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and friendly service.
Wow! Total R&R in this beautiful place. The staff was amazing! Every single staff member was friendly, helpful and professional to insure we had a wonderful stay. Our room had a terrace with a plunge pool and a direct view of the sea. Such a great place to relax. The property was well located in Grand Anse and could walk to shops on the road or along the beach at low tide. The swimming pool on the beach side was great for cooling off and I enjoyed swimming laps each day. There is a turtle park with giant tortoises in the portion of the hotel across the street, along with another pool and tennis court. When walking along the beach, we enjoyed watching the windsurfers and kite surfers. The property has rental cars and Mini Moke Jeeps for rent. We got one of the Mokes one day to explore the island and the many beautiful beaches. They gave us pointers on what to see and do and it was a wonderful day! We had half board and the breakfasts were buffet-style with different options each day along with cooked to order eggs. Dinners were a la carte with a standard menu and then specials which changed every 2 days. All of the food we had was yummy and well prepared, served with a smile. Although the property is a bit rustic, with driftwood and shell decor, it was a great place for us to unwind after a 2 week African Safari. If our plans bring us back to Praslin we would not hesitate to stay there again!
A very nice and quiet hotel with an incredible service (lobby, room and restaurant), good access to the beach, calm and good swimming pools and a very good restaurant. Even the hotel was 100% full the sensation was as it was quite an empty. Very recomendable hotel.
Our stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The pools were clean and very enjoyable, and our room was cleaned every day, which made us feel very comfortable.
The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their attitude truly made our experience even more special.
The beach in front of the hotel was also kept very clean at all times, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was amazing!
We would definitely come back again and highly recommend this hotel!
The Bliss Hotel probably looked as the pictures provided around 15 years ago, but the reality is this is a very tired hotel in big need of a full upgrade. Even the sign outside the hotel was all brown and looking really tired.
It was quite disappointing to get into my garden room which felt very dark, damp and dingy. The shower was the worst- there was only a wooden rod with a mosquito net as a shower curtain, which meant my bathroom floor was flooded everyday. I had to ask for extra towels everyday so I could put them on the floor to soak up the excess water- The sea shells that they had as a shower wall were dis-coloured and brown yellow-ish. It felt like they had been going for the beachy shabby chic look, which probably looked fabulous back in the day, except now it just looked a bit shabby. I feel that for the price I paid for this, I should at least have expectations of a nice clean shower.
The pool area- A large white really dirty sofa took center stage- it did not give a good impression nor did I want to sit in it. There were screws all over the place sticking up from the floorboards that were quite dangerous which we had to tell the maintenance guy to come and fix. I feel the pool water was questionable as well and am unsure how often they cleaned it. It did not feel like they maintained the pool at all as I had to take out leaves and snot paper that had gotten into the pool on many occasions. The breakfast was mostly brown food and a few basic fruits. So odd when the Island is full of fantastic fruits! I was expecting a great healthy fresh breakfast. If you were not there early there was just some dry melon left and they did not automatically fill this up unless you asked.
The beach was full of seaweed and stingrays were everywhere, so we could not use the beach at all, which was really disappointing. This is not the fault of the hotel of course but would not have stayed here if I had known.
What saved the hotel was the restaurant staff and the cleaners- Ishan and Chaminda and all the others were truly fantastic and they were always smiling offering to help, The a la carte restaurant also provided great food, the fish curry and the Thai salad were my favourites. Kudos to the chef.
This was my first time in the Seychelles and unfortunately in spite of the great staff, I am not able to recommend Bliss Hotel to anyone unless they put some effort in and do the renovations and upgrade the rooms. Location wise- knowing what I know now, I would rather stay on the other side of the Island closer to the fabulous beaches of Lazio and Georgette.
