Valmer Resort is a luxury establishment nestled in the heart of Baie Lazare, located on the southern-coast, the most untouched part of Mahe Island. The Resort is just a few minutes walk from the sweeping Baie Lazare white sandy beach. The Hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment and renovation over the years, by renovating the public area and introducing new facilities including more parking spaces, children's playground, club car service, 2 new Junior Suites with jacuzzis and new Pool Villa. In October 2015, the hotel introduced a new gym and Frangipani Spa offering massages, facials and nail care from expert Balinese spa therapists. In early 2016, the hotel opened 8 new contemporary Ocean View Suites, perfect for couples seeking tranquility.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The place is really gorgeous. It’s very peaceful and clean. Room was modern, spacious and clean. There is nespresso coffee machine, but capsules are not provided, so bring your own. Water is only provided on first day, rest of the time you have to buy extra. Food was pretty basic, but okay. There is no room service, so if you miss the bf/lun/din timings you’ll have to eat outside. But I didn’t come here to eat anyway. Staff is polite and helpful. One issue I wasn’t aware of was remote location of resort. All of the tour companies were adding 100€ for transportation to any tour, which was really frustrating to me. So if you don’t rent a car it might be an issue. But I ended up enjoying the nearby beach and the resort facilities. If you’re looking for quiet private place with beautiful views - Valmer is your place.
One lovely touch was staff calling me for breakfast if I overslept, it was really sweet of them as I did most days🤣 In general - very pleasant experience.
I wouldn’t recommend a long stay here. Although the views are amazing, that’s all you’re going to get. The customer service is lacking, the pool is very small, the menu is very limited and there are no other places of interest near by. The resort is very cheap and looks to charge for anything. The checkout process is horrendous. They require you to checkout at 10am, and do not allow later, even if you try to request it early. You can get the same views at other resorts here. Seychelles is very beautiful but has no cultural experiences or good food. Good luck on your journey and I’ve been as honest as I can.
Good service. Nice rooms. Surprised how good is the food. Nice pool. This place brings me a lot of joy. I’m happy I visited it. Definitely want to comeback for more. Rooms have everything what I need; microwave, hairdryer , fridge, kettle, coffee machine, Aircon and sailing fans etc.
I visited this hotel for business. One word sums up my experience, Pathetic! On the second night, I came back at 10pm and I had left the key at the reception, it was closed and everyone had gone to sleep, same thing happened on the third night, only that this night it was about 11pm and everyone was fast asleep, nobody in sight including security, kitchen was closed. (You can die of hunger in this hotel, I took black tea for dinner that night, no one was available to cook, apparently it is the norm in the hotel) Which "luxury" hotel shuts down at night to resume business in the morning? This is the first one. I had to walk to the staff quarters to wake up someone to get the key, which took another half an hour. This hotel fails in every sector, customer service, food, nothing seems to work here. There is no value for money, pathetic overpriced buffet meals with limited options. Being a hotelier myself, I had the worst experience with this hotel. I highly recommend that you keep off this hotel!!
A nice secluded place. If you're looking for relaxation this is the place. Its got a nice pool, pool bar, restaurant everything you could need. The views from the rooms are absolutely amazing!!
