Set in a lush oasis of palm trees, La Pirogue looks like a Mauritian fishing village. The distinctive cone-shaped, thatched roofs are clustered around the seashore at the edge of lush vegetation. This isn't a fishing village of course - it's an incredible 4 star hotel - and there's plenty of wonderfully fresh fish on offer in the superb restaurants.

You'll never be short of things to do at La Pirogue. The vast swimming pool is an absolute delight. Impeccably designed and fringed by palms, it is one of the hotel's biggest attractions.
The restaurants are high up that list too. From the beach bar to the main restaurant, the chefs and bartenders at La Pirogue work hard to give you a mouth-watering selection of food and drink. You'll enjoy lots of fresh ingredients and a great range of flavours. (And for even more choice, three additional restaurants are available to guests at the Sugar Beach Hotel.)
La Pirogue is well equipped for sports and fitness fans. Naturally, water sports are popular - and there are lots of opportunities for you to enjoy the wonderfully clean, warm water, whether you're a novice or a pro-scuba diver.
You can enjoy games from mini golf to volleyball - and there's a full fitness centre on site. We also recommend the spa - an essential ingredient of a truly relaxing Mauritius holiday.
One final but very important factor is your room. All Standard Garden View rooms (from August 2017 Garden Bungalows) are at ground level, with terraces leading straight out into the beautiful palm groves. There is full air conditioning and additional amenities include satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, safe, mini bar and drinks making facilities. Room upgrades such as Beach Pavilions are also available at a supplement.
You'll never tire of the sight of that perfect white sandy beach, or the deep blue sea; La Pirogue really does enjoy a perfect secluded spot on the West coast of Mauritius.

Pure Paradise
Absolutely amazing, came here on honeymoon and it really is paradise. Highly recommend Le Morne restaurant, especially the chocolate cake. Service was amazing too and big thanks to Daavinen, Leanne, Farhan and Vanshika. Thank you.
Delicious food with an amazing view
The food was delicious and the location is amazing, directly in front of the ocean. The service (Hans and Shersingh) was excellent.

Very nice Hotel, lovely People, wonderful Beach with greatful turkise Water and big Palms.Very good Food, we had All inclusive. A lot of free Warer Aktivities.

Exceptional La Pirogue
It is difficult to describe how good our experience was at La Pirogue. We went for my partners 60th birthday with family and friends. Not sure why La Pirogue is only rated 4*. Right from check in the experience was exceptional 5*+. Special mention for the crew at Le Morne restaurant- Vaneeshka, Hans and Suman who went out of their way to make the birthday celebrations really special. Finally I must single out Aksara at Magenta. We have never had such service anywhere and we have travelled a lot. Huge thanks again and we’ll definitely be back.

A wonderful resort with amazing service
A wonderful stay at La Pirogue, celebrating a friends 60th birthday. Thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome but in particular Feroze who looked after us so well at breakfast, Jake and Christanth who served us lovely cocktails and “Mauritian water” at Le Morne Bar for sunset every evening, - Sophie, Gaelle, Jordan and Kamala for our lunches And a very special evening with a beautifully decorated table for the dinner party. Thank you Hans, Sheer Singh, Vaneesha and Suman for making it happen.
Other lovely dinners at Mare Mare, thank you Vaishnav and Yorghen And especially wonderful dinners at Magenta, with great service from Jimmy, Aksara, Aruind Raihaan and Vikash.
And so many others, thank you. We hope to return one day.
