Le Suffren Hotel and Marina

Great little business hotel. Very friendly staff and Kawthar in the bar was particularly helpful and always had a smile.

In May 26 I spent a week at this hotel. I told my agent to book me in a business hotel in the heart of Port Louis as I was spending a week doing research in various institutions in the city, or on the train route. She booked me here and I was delighted. I had an excellent breakfast every morning, a drink when I got back in tge late afternoon, and dinner in the evening, every day. I was not here to sightsee, and I was not interested in family type activities. I wanted peace and comfort and got both. Really good aircon and a comfy bed. Honestly, I cannot fault anything. The shower was a bit tired, but it worked perfectly. The little boat ride accross into town was a bit of a novelty, but worked seamlessly with never more than a few minutes wait. The menu was varied enough for one week and the staff were professional and courteous. As a South African now living in Ireland I was surprised and impressed at how well the hotel catered for South African clientele - obviously an important cohort. There were even South African plug points in the bedroom, and with the exception of one Kiwi accent I recognised, the clients all appeared to be South Africans doing business.
