This is what a holiday beach hotel should look like – the soft sand, the endless blue horizons and the wonderful tranquillity. The Lux Grand Gaube Hotel in Mauritius is the perfect island get-away. It's beautifully designed; you'll spot the local influences at once– the thatched roofs, the harmony with nature and the relaxing, laidback atmosphere. But there's inspiration from the Far East too – with influences from feng shui helping to make the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel one of the most relaxing places to stay in Mauritius.
Occupying a stunning location near the lovely fishing village of Grand Gaube on the north coast, the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel gives you everything you'd expect of the finest beach hotel. The wonders of Mauritius are all around you – the beach, the miles of unspoilt forests, and the breathtaking views at every turn. But there's more to Mauritius – this is a vibrant, welcoming island, full of colour and music, and it's all waiting for you to discover it.
So the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel is the best place to start. There really aren't any more spectacular settings. The hotel is bordered by no fewer than three beaches – and a beautiful big lagoon. Views extend out over the northern isles of Mauritius and there's something spectacular to see from almost every vantage point.
From your room you can look out over the sea or the magnificent countryside and just soak it all up. Sit out on your furnished balcony or terrace and watch the waves crash gently against the shore, or listen to the gentle breeze rustling through the trees. These are the sights and sounds you'll never want to forget. Superior rooms at Lux Grand Gaube Hotel are magnificent. They're all ensuite and air conditioned, and benefit from additional features including telephone, satellite TV, minibar, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi internet access. Deluxe rooms and suites are also available at a supplement.
As well as all those beaches to explore, you'll have four swimming pools to choose from – and that tranquil lagoon. There is also an excellently equipped fitness centre and a relaxing spa. In fact you can play sports, or you can swim, or you can windsurf or do any number of things… Or you might just want to make every effort to relax like never before. This really is the place to do it.
To aid your relaxation and contentment, you won't have to look far for the perfect meal. The Lux Grand Gaube Hotel boasts an outstanding selection of restaurants. Again local and Far Eastern influences have a bearing on the cuisine, but there is such a wonderfully eclectic mix on offer, from the best local food to barbeques and lighter offerings.
It's no surprise the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel is one of the most romantic hotels in the world. This is a beautiful, serene and utterly beguiling place – a perfect synthesis of setting and ambience that will completely charm you.
Situated on the North Coast at Grand Gaube, Lux* Grand Gaube occupies an idyllic position only a few minutes away from a quiet fishing village. Designed with Feng Shui in mind the hotel radiates a tranquil ambiance. Offering stunning views of the northern isles of Mauritius and bordered by 3 beaches and a serene lagoon, it is no wonder this hotel was awarded Trip Advisor's most romantic hotel in the world in 2008.
From the moment the wonderful Nehah checked us in until she checked us out 2 weeks later, we had the most amazing experience, an unbelievable way to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We were made to feel special by all of the staff, friendly, professional but never intrusive. A fantastic place to relax and to feel valued.
The food was superb wherever we ate , in the specialised restaurants or the buffet. Our anniversary day dinner in INTI was unforgettable, as were the anniversary breakfast and final evening dinner at Bodrum.
There were several people who made our holiday even more memorable. Nehah at reception, Jitesh at the main bar, Freddy and Kirshi at Palm Court, Tsiory and Sarah at Beach Rouge, Chef Pedro, the Night Manager ,Kavisaj and Madhav at INTI, Dhiksha and Dirgesh at Bodrum…and Bobo for our morning power walks.
Two more people to mention. Our room maid Jayshree who added her own special celebration to our room when she discovered our anniversary cards on the table. Finally, Bugs, the sommelier, who continually made time to speak to me when he saw me.
We thank everyone at Lux Grand Gaube for making this our best ever holiday (we’ve had many wonderful holidays worldwide) and the most marvellous way to celebrate our very significant anniversary. Thanks!
Our stay at Lux Grand Gaube was nothing short of exceptional. This trip was incredibly special to us—it was our babymoon, my anniversary and the place where my future husband proposed to me. The team made every one of these moments truly unforgettable.
A very special thanks to Nitisha, who organized everything so thoughtfully and made our stay absolutely perfect. Her attention to detail, kindness, and genuine care exceeded all our expectations.
We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to Chef Deepak, who prepared and offered us the most incredible dinner we had during our entire stay in Mauritius. It was an unforgettable culinary experience and without a doubt the best dinner we had on the island.
A big thank you as well to Fredy, Romario, and Khrisna, whose warmth, friendliness, and professionalism made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. It was a pleasure getting to know them, and they truly contributed to making our stay feel like home.
We also want to thank Raj Sharma B Photography for beautifully capturing some of the most meaningful moments of our trip. Thanks to the amazing photos, we'll be able to relive these memories for many years to come.
Lux Grand Gaube is much more than a beautiful resort—it is a place where lifelong memories are created. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely cared for, and that made all the difference.
We cannot recommend Lux Grand Gaube highly enough. Thank you for making such an important chapter of our lives so memorable. We will definitely be back!

When travelling 12 hours from home with a severe peanut allergy, there’s always that anxiety of wondering, “Will there be somewhere safe for me to eat?”
From the moment we arrived at Lux Grand Gaube, the team went above and beyond to accommodate my allergy. Chef Deepuck introduced himself on our first day and even gave me his phone number so I could message him each morning to let him know where I’d be having breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He would then brief the teams at each restaurant, and every member of staff already knew my name and my allergy before I arrived.
The level of care, communication, and attention to detail was exceptional and made me feel completely safe throughout our stay. It’s something I’ll never forget.
The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings, fantastic facilities, and a wonderful atmosphere. It was the perfect destination for a family holiday.
I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough, especially for anyone travelling with food allergies. They truly set the standard for allergy awareness and guest care.
We have stay here for 5 days and it was very good and worth it. At the beach I would like to mention some name that made our stay so good : viresh, reedoo, niatso thank you so much.
Rishi at Palm Court Restaurant was the best waiter.
Mr Giany and Emmanuel does an excellent job in the hotel he welcome us with a big smile.
Last but not least Chetan The man himself the best Barista I’ve ever met he is a great guy. Every day with a big smile he welcome us. The way he explained everything in details you can already taste to flavor in your mouth. This guy is exceptional. He makes the best coffee and with his mixology experience he created some drinks with coffee without alcohol. Man this was the best.
