The Best Service in 40 Years of Global Travel
My wife and I just spent our 30th anniversary at the Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury in Grand Baie, and I can honestly say I have never experienced service like this.
I travel internationally for business and have been fortunate to stay in many top hotels over almost 40 years, including family holidays with our four children. This was on another level entirely.
From the moment we arrived — welcomed with flowers and escorted to our room — every detail was immaculate. The room, the grounds, the pool, the spa. We enjoyed the sauna, massages and facials, days by the pool with loungers always reserved for our villa. With only 64 villas, it feels private and perfectly cared for, but never pretentious.
What sets it apart is the people. The care, the attention to small details, the genuine warmth. We met a German gentleman, Klaus, who returns every December and says he wouldn't holiday anywhere else despite having access to resorts worldwide. I completely understand why.
Flawless, personal, and truly special. If you want an amazing holiday where you are truly looked after, this is it. Highest recommendation.
Average but with some positives
Overall our stay at the hotel was quite mediocre, and not a good experience.
- NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE:
We had a poor experience with the lady at the front desk called Reema. She was rude and disrespectful towards us when we first entered and checked in.
- POSITIVE EXPERIENCES:
HOWEVER, the following people were standouts for us and gave us exceptional service, which improved our stay and made us happy.
Ritesh (Head of House Keeping): He was always helpful, cheerful and friendly to us during our stay. He was ready to assist us anytime. We thank him for his service and positive attitude!
Chef Jean Luc (Head Chef): The food Chef prepared was 10/10, and was absolutely delicious. He also went out of his way to prepare certain delicious dishes for us, which we really appreciated and enjoyed. He made sure we were always looked after well at the restaurant! We thank him for his hospitality and his amazing food.

Incredible hotel !!!
Incredible hotel, every member of staff was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. I can't recommend the hotel enough, so much so we have already booked to go back next year!!
A pure gem of a hotel, carried by a wonderful staff!
An absolute pleasure to stay at the Royal Palm: exquisite rooms, fantastic and creative outlay of the hotel, but the essence is in the way you are made to be felt welcome and an immediate part of the family: everywhere you go in the hotel, you are welcomed with a smile and natural friendliness; the staff are all so nice, you really feel welcome in their jewel of a hotel. The 5 star rating is not in the ratings, but in the way you feel at home and the way you are treated. I had a medical issue, which kept me in my room for 3 days; all the staff were so helpful, the kitchen made special meals for me and everywhere my wife passed, the staff enquired concerning my health, my needs, what they could do to make me as comfortable as possible. This was the first time;we stayed at this lovely place, but I can say it will certainly not be the last! We’ll be back!
