Loads of thanks to the kitchen department, especially Chef Satish and Ashwin who delivered an excellent service to us. Baccus the waiter was also very helpful.We really enjoyed at the bar,thanks to Youven,the bar supervisor and the team.from the kitchen department to the reception and bar,they were all very friendly and made you that the appropriate service was delivered. We had a lovely stay at Mauricia Beechcomber. The real highlight of this hotel has to be the staff, probably the most welcoming, friendly place we have been to with staff genuinely just wanting to look after you. We arrived very early so our room wasn't ready but we were still looked after from the moment we arrived and given wristbands and towel cards straightaway so we could make use of the facilities. The location is good with good bus links, and the hypermarket a short walk away is good for any snacks you want, and we got our snorkelling gear and sea shoes from there.

The room was really nice with a very comfy bed, great shower and plenty of clothes storage space. Hanging area with several hangers and lots of drawers and shelves. Spotlessly clean and looked after very well each day with the minibar and tea and coffee topped up.

The pool area was great, never an issue getting sunbeds. The pool has dark coloured tiles which is why it looks odd in the photos but it is a lovely big pool to swim in.

Onto the food, yum! Maybe a little repetitive if I'm honest and maybe a bit more variety would have been better, especially with veg (I've never eaten so many green beans!). But what they did good was fantastic. The grilled beef steak and roast beef in particular was delicious, so tender and juicy. We never struggled to find something we liked, I think there was a chicken dish every day. Loved the pizzas made in the oven in front of you for lunch and dinner. But the best was the puddings, wow! Puddings and pistachio ice cream were the best I've had at an all inclusive resort, my waistline post holiday agrees ha ha! La Nautica was also very good with lots of choice, we really enjoyed the steak. The picnic option if you were out for the day was really good too. Big baguettes, a snack and some fruit and drinks.

But as I said the staff really made the hotel, everyone was so friendly. People we really wanted to mention as they did so much for us to make our holiday special: Massive thank you to Sawan in the bar, he was brilliant. He soon learnt what drink we liked and how we didn't like lemon in them so hardly had to ask. And he was such a nice guy too, really welcoming when he saw us arriving and making sure we got a drink when we wanted one and if there was anything else he could get for us. Also to Niket in the bar, what a lovely young man he is. He also looked after us very well. Also to Saityamsingh who also looked after us well. I also wanted to say thank you to Alexandre who ran the aquagym classes in the pool. I loved his classes, one of the best I've had on holiday. Always gave instructions in French and English so it was easy for everyone to follow along. Really enjoyable and a another very friendly and lovely person. But generally all the staff were great and a credit to the hotel, even one day we went on the bus to Port Louis and a member of staff recognised us and made sure we were happy that we knew were to get off.

Only slight negatives, we paid for a beachfront view but I probably wouldn't again. It wasn't really a beach view as you could only see the sea. It was a lovely view of the bay but not really what we were expecting. Also as it gets dark quite early (around 6) we didn't sit out there very much. Also nothing to do with the hotel but the beach was a bit disappointing. Beautiful beach don't get me wrong but I expected it to go all round the bay but it doesn't, it is pretty small. Also the sea isn't great, there is something slimy underfoot if you go out deep enough to swim which was not pleasant, and the water isn't clear like woth places, possibly due to the boats.

But all in all a lovely hotel, thanks again to the staff for everything they did.
